God I FUCKING hate christians.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS MAGIC!!!!

I cannot stand how scientology gets treated like some ridiculous joke while christianity booms on, killing more and more diabetics every day.
These are Christian Scientists not Christians asshat. And yes, Christian Scientists are treated like a ridiculous joke to the rest of the world except ignorant fucks like you who think all Christians are the same.

Hell Christian Science isn't even considered Christianity by a lot of people!

This is definitely one of the most ignorant things people can say about most situations. LET'S NOT DO ANYTHING AND BLAME IT ON GOD IF THINGS GO WRONG.

This makes me sad...
God put people on this planet to discover medicine for a reason.

Reminds me of a story...

A man was drowning, a boat came by to save him, he said he did not need saving, that God was going to save him. Two more people came by, but the same thing happened. He then died and went to heaven. He asked God why he didn't save him, and God said that he sent three people to save him, but he refused them all!

And please don't generalize all Christians based on ones like this...
Don`t know where you got this from but if this little story was put in the bible, it would save many people. And if you got this story from the bible then these people are even more fucking retarded.

Man I hate devout followers. They're always SO FUCKING STUPID, thinking that there is a reason behind everything that happens, shit is never their fault, and so forth.
I don`t really think this is real devout. More a mis-interpretation of the bible (which is a fucking stupid mistake to make).

Another thing I find sad is that we can`t do shit about this. We can`t like, sue them into taking there daughter to a hospital. We can just write articles about it and complain in a forum how we all think this if fucked up.
I like pie :-)

This is funny because some scientists said that praying can make ill persons better and this completely contradicts their findings

There's a difference between respectful praying alongside medical treatment (which can help) and complete and total negligence.

It certainly isn't for the reason that most religous people would like to think that it is. It has the same effect as letting them know that you care, but there certainly isn't any sort of divine power acting along.

Well, this is where you an I differ on beliefs. As someone who believes in a higher power, I would certainly say that it isn't out of the question for prayer to assist (assist, not cure by themselves in place of medical care) a sick person through some kind of divinity. I understand as a medical student, I would have no place actually enacting my own personal beliefs on a patient, but that's my own belief. But even a non spiritual person could attribute a religious patients willpower and desire to live (which both is a VERY REAL factor in whether someone gets better) to prayer.

ughh, i saw this article on digg and i thought, "man, GW is going to hate this."
this doesn't represent Christians at all. it's not like the Bible says, "Don't get help for sick people." it says things more like "pray for everyone, encourage them, and take care of them to show God's love through you." sure, people should pray for their sick children. back in Bible days, when a child fell sick, praying was all the parents could do. but now God has opened up new opportunities for us as he has allowed us to make advancements in medicine with the materials he made on Earth so long ago.
the parents of that diabetic girl were just stupid. they should have done what was necessary to take care of their daughter. that doesn't violate Christianity or anything, so it's beyond me why they would choose to not take care of her. something tells me that religion isn't the only factor in this, so please don't assume it is.

hey whats the difference between Christian scientists being illogical and Christians.

there's this sudden panicked response of NOT ALL CHRISTIANS ARE LIKE THIS but really, historically speaking they are (by which I mean RESPONSIBLE FOR DEATH Children's Crusade etc), and honestly, if anything else, doesn't a Christian Scientist have more faith in God than a normal Christian? Christ also told those who followed him that HE was first, not their families. if anything, Christian Scientists are following this principle to the letter!

There have also been tensions over theological and religious concerns. While members of the Christian Science church claim their religion is based in, reconcilable with, and part of Christianity (being based upon the teachings of Jesus), there are orthodox Christian theologians and others who disagree. These critics state that Mary Baker Eddy's interpretation of Christian scripture diverges too greatly from basic tenets of Christianity. They often cite the faith's views on the nature/existence of evil or sin, the divinity and resurrection of Jesus, the trinity, and a few others as meaning that the faith can no longer be considered a Christian denomination.

I'm not even Christian but even I know that Christianity isn't like "WHOEVER PUTS THE MOST FAITH INTO GOD WINS." To the point where Christian Scientists are being ostracized by their own community for not being Christian it is unfair to group all Christian denominations to them!

You're whole point about HISTORICALLY SPEAKING is kind of irrelevant as well because, well, the Children's Crusade wasn't even that bad. If you've done some research into it, its not like CHILDREN BEING SOLD INTO SLAVERY, its just some poor people being sent back from where they came.

Hmm... Considering the Crusades and such. I am sorry. I really, really am. I am sorry for all of the crap that Christians have done over the years, all of the wars we have started, all of the people who have died because of us. Unfortunately, all Christians are human, and we are in no way perfect.  We are selfish, and give in to our own desires. But that is not Christ, that is us. I am sorry...

Like NinjaPirate said, it is not a contest, It is simply about loving Jesus. But God tells us to have faith in Him, but He wants us to ACT in faith, not WAIT in faith (unless it is a situation where waiting is the only option... not like this one).

As for the family one, yes God is first. Even over family. But that in no way says abandon your family, hate them, or let them die.

A Christian is someone who believes that Jesus of Nazareth is the son of God and died on the cross for the sins of mankind.

...

....

...... That's it.

Christians know that the connection between man and God was severed with the death and resurrection of Jesus and we are on our own until the second coming when we all rise to heaven.  That's what Christians believe.  Christians do not believe in magic.  They do not shun man made inventions, medicine, or science.  Other denominations based on Christianity might, but a Christian itself does not.

Please educate yourselves before making base and crass remarks because it ends up making you look like an idiot.

p.s. all muslims are terrorists because blowing themselves up means they'll go to heaven where 72 virgins await them FUCKING SHIT I HATE MUSLIMS FUCKING SAND MONKEY TOWEL HEADS YOU MADE 9/11 HAPPEN!
