Hmm... Considering the Crusades and such. I am sorry. I really, really am. I am sorry for all of the crap that Christians have done over the years, all of the wars we have started, all of the people who have died because of us. Unfortunately, all Christians are human, and we are in no way perfect.  We are selfish, and give in to our own desires. But that is not Christ, that is us. I am sorry...

Like NinjaPirate said, it is not a contest, It is simply about loving Jesus. But God tells us to have faith in Him, but He wants us to ACT in faith, not WAIT in faith (unless it is a situation where waiting is the only option... not like this one).

As for the family one, yes God is first. Even over family. But that in no way says abandon your family, hate them, or let them die.

why are you apologizing for the shortcomings of humanity? every religion and every belief has its radicals, and no matter what the situation, radicals are always horrible. you can't judge a religion by its people, but rather by its teachings from its holy book or documents. you get fools who come to ridiculous conclusions (i.e. GOD HATES FAGS) based on reading single verses, taking them out of context (which drastically changes the meaning), and twisting them into completely different teachings. people can say WE ARE CRUSADING IN THE NAME OF GOD all they want, but it is not in the name of God if it does not line up with his teachings. man can not control God, so saying the crusades were in the name of God is ignorant.

but yeah, you're supposed to act in faith. you're not supposed to just be like HMM GOD WILL HEAL ME SCREW MEDICINE, you pray for healing, but you also go get checked out and crap. these parents were delusional and they give a bad name to humanity in general.

yeah but everyone worth talking to here probably knows this anyway.

I'm just voicing my opinion; I never called anyone an idiot, I never even attacked anyone, but every time I post my opinion anywhere I get attacked. this is starting to get ridiculous. not referring to you specifically, but just about every post I make is responded to with either sarcasm or anger. sure I used to be an immature asshole not too long ago, but now I'm posting less often and I'm honestly trying to just be a normal member of the community, but people are still holding grudges against me. grow up, everybody.

Man you know he's joking, right? I can't tell if you're joking, too, but...

Also yeah I'm kind of desensitized to this kind of thing, because it happens way too often, but even that alone sucks. I really despise these kinds of people. Jackasses and dicks and jerks I can deal with, but these kinds of people...

You know he was joking by his last two posts, and he's been on your side since you posted in this topic, right?

I know he's joking now, I was a little bothered and wasn't thinking straight first, but the fact still stands that every time I make a post, the response is always sarcastic or angry. I don't know, it's just starting to wear me out. but yeah, I see what he's saying. thanks.

To be honest, I was originally going to reply to jssnoa by saying that the crusades had nothing to do with religion and was all about the europeans reclaiming jerusalem (using religion to gain favor from the public and uneducated masses) and the projection of power (all human motivations, not divine in any way) but you beat me to the punch and I just felt like pointing out that the internet is a breeding ground for leftists and counter culture fags who rag on religion by saying the followers are poorly educated extremist sheep but the leftist fags rarely take the time to step back and realize the dark irony of their blunt statements.  Humanity is plagued by stupidity regardless of what you believe in but I just can't take anyone seriously who reads Nietzsche and suddenly considers themselves capable of criticizing something they have absolutely no knowledge on just like I scoff at assholes who directly quote bible passages made by other humans and then go on to say "fags have no right to live (also black people are the mark of cain)."

But Muslims, man, fuck 'em.  i hate those bearded terrorists bastards because beards are evil and kill children.

EDIT: i just did a google search and read on an uncomfirmable source that beards RAPE then kill children.  that makes muslims 2x as bad.

EDIT 2: i just read some history book and rasputin had a beard.  rasputin was a pretty evil dude so that makes muslims 3x as bad.

EDIT 3: i just saw a picture of this jezzus fellow and he had a beard too.  because of my previous statements, that makes christians as bad as muslims.

oh yeah, jesus ate kittens.  i KNOW because i read it in a book and books are infallible

Ban sarcasm. I'm being sarcastic Btw.

So yeah, one case of extreme christian actions doesn't mean that every christian is that way. The article is pretty sad though.

This is funny because some scientists said that praying can make ill persons better and this completely contradicts their findings
Actually, no. Newer - much larger studies - have been done which suggest that prayer actually increases your chances of complications.

Well, both studies are about as credible as another? What to believe?

dude, you think that's accurate? you think God will heal people just because someone prays to him and tells him to? he doesn't work like that. God has his own plans and his own will for what should happen. you can't just gather a group of people who say they're Christians and tell them to pray for people they don't even know. i don't see why that study would affect you at all. because yes, there have been a lot of modern-day medical miracles that believers attribute to God from prayer. but as Christians, we should know that God isn't a genie that grants wishes no matter what. he does what is best for everyone. sometimes, he lets people die because he knows it's their time to go, and because he knows it will be an experience to increase the faith of the person's loved ones through whatever his plan is.

and regarding this family who let their daughter die... FOX News says:

The girl's parents, Dale and Leilani Neumann, attributed the death to "apparently they didn't have enough faith," the police chief said.

They believed the key to healing "was it was better to keep praying. Call more people to help pray," he said.

The mother believes the girl could still be resurrected, the police chief said.

Telephone messages left at the Neumann home by The Associated Press were not immediately returned.

The family does not attend an organized church or participate in an organized religion, Vergin said. "They have a little Bible study of a few people."

they weren't even Christians. and it's definitely not in the Bible that God will answer your prayers "if you have enough faith". these people didn't know the first thing about prayer. sadly, maybe if they had gone to a church, they could learn the truth about prayer and know that praying for their daughter without caring for her will probably not work.
i wish the internet understood Christians, and didn't hate them so much. >_<

EDIT: and her mother believes she could still be resurrected? Jesus isn't on earth anymore, hun. anything is possible with God, yeah, but... something tells me this lady was just a little nutso.

Yeah, they were being pretty stupid there, their faith gauge was only at level fifteen, you learn regen and cure at about level twenty, ensuna at twenty three if you're class is a faithknight.

Just a little? I wouldn't be surprised if she was being followed by a pack of rabid squirrels.

Everything else aside, resigning to the idea of a god determining if someone gets to live or not according to some mysterious infallible "divine plan" is pretty horrible anyway.

That said, I'll be very upset if there's no legal charges against these people, or even if they get to keep their kids.

No; I don't think God heals people at all. Why won't God heal amputees?

Sorry, but it sounds to me these parents totally Neglected their child, and are trying to use Christianity as an excuse as to why they didnt take their child to the doctors.

"oh no... Our Daughter's dead..."

"I told you she was sick.."

"shit.. what are we gonna do?"

"Let's just tell everyone we prayed for her..."

C'mon... It's people like this that give Christians a bad image.

A Christian is someone who believes that Jesus of Nazareth is the son of God and died on the cross for the sins of mankind.

...

....

...... That's it.

Yup... thats it... It has nothing to do with miracles, magic, or pseudo-science.
