Haven't finished all the maps, but here's what I have done so far:

LordBlueRouge's "DodgeThis"
 > My favorite part of this was how it timed everything with the music. And it timed so perfectly! Especially the initial 3 second countdown and the part where he runs out of ammo. Very excellent. For the actual gameplay, however, I really didn't feel like there was too much in terms of strategy. I just ran in circles. When I actually tried to dodge the bullets, I died.

LordBlueRogue's "Convicts, Cliffs n' Criminals"
 > "I'm tired" is about all I have to say. And that it broke (as in, I pressed the button but nothing fired) with 15 seconds left!!!!!!  I totally gave up.

Skie's "Alex vs. Klaus"
 > I smell a sequel! The sprite work was nice, too.

PKUltimaga's "A Riddle"
 > I walked around the Reaper the first time and didn't even ask the questions. Also, if you choose the third option right away the cutscene happens, despite that not making much sense. But not bad overall - and a good basic Alex(IS) map.

Dragol's "1920"
 > Very nice. Alexis face portraits were neat. Alex's pictures at the beginning were brilliant. In general, I love your sprite work, and this map really show cased your work. Too bad the English is still pretty broken. The silent movie thing was a nice addition.

Psyburn's "Kef Presents: The Temple of Tarantino"
 > Hated it. Couldn't see, and couldn't get out. I actually looked for the "skip map" option that RPG said he was putting in. The quizzes weren't bad, though.

halibabica's "Comic World"
 > Nice idea, but it was too hard (for me) to see what was happening to accurately guess (I thought he/she was sailing away in the umbrella at the end rather than jumping off the roof). And the walking speed could have been faster.

Limon's "Icy Peak"
 > Umm...nice music, decent mapping...there wasn't much there. Congrats for submitting!

elkalo's "Another Forest Map"
 > Nice looking, good mapping, but too dark. The overlay didn't help (although I thought it looked alright for an overlay).

Arcan's "Alex Racing"
 > I was really hoping to be able to race, rather than just bet (and "cheat" to be able to win). Plus I won with the green one and it said I lost. I was sad. The orange one was more lucky, though. Despite being a chicken, I won, and they agreed!

Bobberticus' "Quebec"
 > Quebec? Anyway, since RPG said this was his favorite one (and the screenshot provided was funny enough), I was really expecting a lot more. It wasn't bad, but I was still very disappointed.

Sanosuke's "Dice and Cards"
 > I struggled with the dice game. I got a one three times in a row, and four of five times. Then I tied the guy twice. And somewhere in the middle there the cards from the card game started showing up. I was beginning to think you had programmed it so that I couldn't win. The dealer was pretty dumb in Black Jack, though, which allowed me to see my prize. And I have to say, I agree with Strangluv here that an ad for your game was really not a good idea, nor was it proper to include in an Alex map. Though the rest of the map was pretty nice. It would have been nice to see some other games than the dice and cards, though, since we've already had some very impressive casino maps in the past.

Dyne's "Attack of the Clones"
 > Fun. Easy. No errors to report. A good Alex(IS) map.

Fatty's "Endless Void II: Samurai Wars"
 > ...ummm...No Comment.

Verridian's "Lost Dream"
 > I recognized some of those names.... It wasn't really that bad. At least it wasn't painful to get through like a certain one mentioned above. What was up with the background?

Clucky's "Sky Town"
 > I was really expecting this to be some fancy airship/floating island map with pretty pictures and gorgeous mapping. It was really odd playing it with those expectations, and still getting a half way decent map. I liked the variation on the "shell game", though I could see that becoming extremely difficult had you moved the barrels faster (and crossed them more). Were they just on random move? Overall, pretty nice.

jsnnoa's "RPG Maker Castle"
 > At first I was like "What?" But after having watched it a second time, it's really not that bad. I liked the flag. I couldn't figure out the windows in the middle though, and the water around really should've been placed with the shift key down. But really, for a map not intended for public viewing, not bad.

Strageluv's "Bridging the Gap"
 > Nice space graphics. How does the R.I.P. relate at all?

KoG's "Gentleman's Challenge!"
 > I totally thought it was broken when I tried  to talk to the man and wouldn't speak with me. I didn't expect myself to have to move a few steps away to be "seen." Not a bad battle. Too bad it wasn't real, though. The walk speed was too slow. Good overall.

Hopefully I can get to the others soon.

And thanks all for the positive feedback!
(But I have to ask - what's up with all the music comments? I honestly thought it was just nice music....)

@Hedge: That was fair, erm the dice game is 100% random so you were just unlucky. As for the Ad thing I see NOW it was a terrible idea. I only played the Alex 1 game and that was years ago so....I had no idea it would be dumb to do such a thing. At the time I saw nothing wronf with it but yeah....after 5 million flames I get the idea.

Everyone: Wow.
I could go through a the whole list with you, but I'll come back when Caminator18 plays through.
Originally, I had this big dungeon idea for running around and collecting stuff/passing puzzles or whatever. Then during one the main scenes, I hit cancel instead of accept... and well... Caminator18 jumped in with the NOUGAT joke, and it went off from there. PROTIP!: Make big mistakes so you can just do something silly instead! :D

Until I pull out that long list of maps: here are some that stood out for me: the 1920 map. Incredible... everything (except writing. :P)
The Sky Town. I don't know if it was the sound effects, or music... but this was just a treat to play.
... God damn, they were all so great! Yeah, I'll get back to you guys on this tomorrow. :) Love this project!

Yo, Sano, sorry if I came off like a big asshole before because I feel pretty bad because I think I came off as way too harsh! But it's not uncommon of me to rip on people who plug their games in the community projects. I did it when Xenosoft submitted some Winter cutscene for the first Alex and I did it again for some other dude entering just to plug his game (can't remember who).

So no hard feelings!

Sorry for the lack of challenge in my map. I started on it, and suddenly it was day 2 and I hardly had any work done. I actually planned on something really challenging.

Oh, and Strangeluv, you suck. The weapon is a book, ain't that hint enough? XD

EDIT: Also, I'll give my comments as soon as I finish a few maps. So far I've only finished myself and am working on that damned Teaching Tongues map.

Sky town was the best by far. Maybe not the actual mapping (but that isn't what these games are about), but the content itself was pretty fun. Felt like it had more gameplay than all the other maps combined.

Ximenez and Psyburn wins the Worst map award by the way...

RPG, thanks for robbing me off my long awaited name in the credits :<

Being put into the worst maps category when I spent 8 hours on that thing is obvious bs....that is no compliment.

I actually spent over 16 on the roguelike.  :fogetsmile:

Honestly, I am surprised people like "RPG Maker Hell" better. Sure, the turn-based movement takes a bit to get used to, but once you get into the mood of killing monsters and grabbing treasure, I found it somewhat entertaining. What's everyone's score, by the way?

And now, for the review:

   * Ekuell  (The Forest of People Who Can't See in the Dark)
- Kind of pointless. Oh well.

    * halibabica (Comic World)
- The panel thing was sort of annoying, I skipped it.

    * neo prime (Scores and Teleports and Gobi)
- So what happens if you burn Gobi?

    * Dudesoft (Moustache's Hidden Zone)
- I will not touch this.  :fogetlaugh:

    * Ralph (The Murder Inn)
- Too easy. Interesting concept, though.

    * LordBlueRouge
- Killed when he started shooting like seven bullets at a time.

   * "Convicts, Cliffs N' Criminals"
- ZXZXZXZXZXZXZXZX ah shit.

    * jackdanielsd (Endless Void II : Samurai Wars)
- No comment.

    * Skie Fortress (Alex vs. Klaus)
- Too serious. I think the answer involves the word "penis".

    * Kazesui
- "Dark Dungeon" - Entertaining, but the flame chase puzzle was annoying.

- "The Nightmare" - Couldn't beat it. Is there any way to dodge the giant wall of flames?

    * Psyburn (Kef Presents: Temple of Tarantino)
- I actually liked this map, although the questions were too easy and the NPCs tended to be pointless. What's beef?

    * Strangeluv (Bridging the Gap)
- Groovy.

    * jsnnoa (RPG Maker Castle)
-  Apparently, this was a mistake.

    * Cardinal Ximenez
- "RPG Maker Hell" - Interesting concept, sucky implementation.

- "Most Egregious Abuse of RM2K3" - Ditto.

    * Dragol (1920's)
- I think the broken English sort of ruined it for me. Too much Eurohype in the lighting effects, eh?

    * Liman (Icy Peak)
- Needs more climbing for the joke to really work.

    * Nerdo (The Old Man With Two Dads)
- INJOKESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!11111

    * Liberty (Teaching Tongues)
- Liked the concept, but it appears you can render this map unwinnable quite easily. Ended up cheating.

    * AznChipmunk (Encounter)
- Lighting effects!

    * Ocean's Dream (Paradise)
- Sprites.

    * PkUltimaga (The Riddle)
- Yeah, whatever.

    * Dyne (Attack of the Clones)
- Somewhat bothersome, but I got through.

    * Bobberticus (Quebec)
- I can walk on the spikes, huzzah!

    * Tau (Death)
- Timing did not work.

    * Nessiah (The Memory)
-  THE ANIME, IT BURNS.

    * hedge[1] (The RPGMaker Battle System Museum)
- This museum is insensitive to minorities (who use RPG Maker XP).

    * elkalo (Another Forest Map)
- Utterly pointless!

    * Verridian (Lost Dreams)
- ARGH.

    * Chef Boyardee (Purgatory)
- We have a winner, folks. What will happen to Dark Nietzsche next time?

    * King of Games (Gentleman's Challenge)
- No trainer/fly glitch? Oh well.

    * Clucky (Sky Town)
- Didn't get it. Needs a better ending.

    * Arcan (Alex Racing)
- They... transform?

    * Sanosuke (Dice and Cards)
- The minigame seemed kind of arbitrary. Would have liked to just wander around more.

    * RPG (Intro and Outro)
- The end had a lot of twists.

    * Dharma_and_Greg#1fan
- YOU ARE GOING TO DIE HERE, ELF. YOU ARE GOING TO DIE.

@Strange: Ok man but honest to god when I did it I saw nothing wrong with advertising my game as well...I didn't realize it was such a big deal and promise I won't do it in any other community game I partake in. My bad and apology accepted!

Good job, everybody.  I'll post my reviews of the maps later...

Oh, and I don't know what happened to the walk speed on my map.  It was supposed to be 1 level higher than that...oh, well.  At least it's not a huge map, so what little walking you have to do isn't quite so bad.

I just uploaded an updated version of the game, the download link is the same. If you are still in the process of downloading, I suggest you stop the download and start all over. If you downloaded the game but didn't play it (or play much of it), you should probably download the new version as well.

This version fixes a bug in Liberty's map where talking to NPCs in a certain order causes you to get stuck in that map. It also fixes little bugs and enhances the playability of some other maps. The most notable addition is Liman's name being added to the credits...!

    * Sanosuke (Dice and Cards)

    * Dharma_and_Greg#1fan
- ... Which map was yours again?

Most Favourite Maps:
Clucky's Sky City takes all.
Alex Racing was really pretty in terms of mapping.

Least Favourite Maps:
Psyburn. DAMN YOU.

Fucking RPGs game is designed to prevent people from playing my map hahaha

You just gotta keep replaying Carol until she uses her Ace first, at which point you use your 2 and then beat her 2 with your 3 and her 3 with your ace.

I just copy pasted SL's post for the game listing,t his isn't the order I did them in or anything.

    * Ekuell  (The Forest of People Who Can't See in the Dark)
- I really just walked right through this map. It was OK, but it did lag just a little.

    * halibabica (Comic World)
- I had no idea what any of these panels was supposed to represent, so after trying several times and only getting the first one I gave up.

    * neo prime (Scores and Teleports and Gobi)
- I got a few things and then ctrl walked to freedom! Mostly it was just too straightforward to get where I wanted to go.

    * Dudesoft (Moustache's Hidden Zone)
- I really liked this one and had many laughs. DON'T    TOUCH    MY    LUMBERJACK. I also like denture man's face.

    * Ralph (The Murder Inn)
- I guessed wrong and never looked back! This wasn't bad, but the hotel was way too big and there was too much unnecessary traipsing about.

    * LordBlueRouge
- "Dodge This" - I got to 13 seconds left, but then I got swarmed by all five bullets and they just kept hitting me over and over and over until I died. If you ever do something like this again, add a half second of invincibility or something after being hit. Getting caught by a swarm of bullets is no fun.

- "Convicts, Cliffs N' Criminals" - This was pretty neat and was graphically really appealing, but after about a minute I didn't want to do it anymore and let myself die.

    * Fatty (Endless Void II : Samurai Wars)
- I didn't get the joke in the last ALEX and I didn't get it here.

    * Skie Fortress (Alex vs. Klaus)
- There was literally nothing to do in this map, so it loses points in my books. Also it went against canon.

    * Kazesui
- "Dark Dungeon" - I loved this one. The switch puzzle was so simple and yet so much fun. I actually had an easier time on the big one than I did on the little one. The dash-to-win was how I beat the map, I'm not sure if there was a different path (I couldn't find it!). I didn't enjoy the mirror Alexis part, though; it was well coded and smooth, but the controls were really weird. I ended up using 1 and 3 from the numpad and 0 and 5 from the numerical keys on the top row of my keyboard because 0 called the menu from the numpad =(.

- "The Nightmare" - I couldn't beat the witch, but this map ran without lag which was pretty incredible! If I had had one more potion I could have done it, but she always hit me with a few attacks and I eventually gave up.

    * Psyburn (Kef Presents: Temple of Tarantino)
- This was pretty bad, and I just skipped all the text and walked to the end.

    * Strangeluv (Bridging the Gap)
- This was weird and kind of disappointing considering it came from a guy who made like seven hundred minigames in AHFA.

    * jsnnoa (RPG Maker Castle)
- This probably looks better at 2x view in the editor.

    * Cardinal Ximenez
- "RPG Maker Hell" - I thought this was pretty good! I didn't get some of the references, but the ones I did get were pretty spot on.

- "Most Egregious Use of RM2K3" - This was really boring and clunky and I just charged into combat until I died.

    * Dragol (1920's)
- This map lagged so badly on my computer (when you get outside and the static overlay is going) that I couldn't play it. A shame, too, since it was the only one that I couldn't and apparently people loved it.

    * Liman (Icy Peak)
- I liked the atmosphere was I really expecting more to happen.

    * Nerdo (The Old Man With Two Dads)
- This was really just one big in-joke. One day they'll like you Nerdo... one day...

    * Liberty (Teaching Tongues)
- This didn't work (RPG fixed it several minutes after I finished ALEXIS) properly because I talked to them in the wrong order (despite apparently gaining level 3). If every NPC had been as good as the manly lumberjack it would have been really good, though!

    * AznChipmunk (Encounter)
- I liked this a lot, but it was really short. Oh well!

    * Ocean's Dream (Paradise)
- You've been showing us that screen for years now and we finally get to play it!

    * PkUltimaga (The Riddle)
- The dialogue near the end was actually pretty good until you get the choice, at which point it totally falls apart. It's like two different people wrote it. :hmm:

    * Dyne (Attack of the Clones)
- This was pretty neat, and I actually ended up playing through it a couple times for no specific reason.

    * Bobberticus (Quebec)
- I think I accidentally beat this map before I was supposed to be able to.

    * Tau (Death)
- This was well made, but there was really nothing going on here.

    * Nessiah (The Memory)
- UGH. This was really, really bad. I mean, the art is good and everything, but it was just a lot of text that I couldn't skip through fast enough.

    * hedge[1] (The RPGMaker Battle System Museum)
- The music in this one didn't work for me; it kept playing over and over on top of itself or something. It was a really awesome map, though, I had a good laugh. I CAN SEE IT.

    * elkalo (Another Forest Map)
- I couldn't even see this map. I think there might have been something interesting to look at somewhere in there, though!

    * YDS (Lost Dreams)
- I thought WIP's quote was pretty good! That was a horrible panorama though.

    * Chef Boyardee (Purgatory)
- I skipped through most of this because I didn't really feel like another ironic diatribe! The skeletal philosopher was pretty good, though!

    * King of Games (Gentleman's Challenge)
- I liked this one a lot actually. I used the new panorama and it was a lot better. Kind of sucks that the other menu options didn't do anything, but with time constraints and all that I thought it was pretty well done.

    * Clucky (Sky Town)
- This one was really well put together. Pretty fun minigames, and everything went quickly and smoothly. This is why people like the RTP!

    * Arcan (Alex Racing)
- I won with the retarded pink one and it still said I lost. I was sad.

    * Sanosuke (Dice and Cards)
- This wasn't as bad as Xeno's map entry into the last Alex, because it at least it acknowledged the fact that it was in an ALEX game and wasn't just a scene taken verbatim from another game. The card game was OK, but the dice just stayed on screen after you played them and took way too long to roll. It was just a random number generator for goodness sake. The fact that you added a screenshot from your game was a pretty awful "treat" tough, man, considering this pretty much was a screenshot from your game.

    * RPG (Intro and Outro)
-
Quote from: Strangeluv
You did a great job with the intro and outro. That intro was one of the best things I've seen in a while. Totally epic. I won't spoil the outro. The world map was pretty good too.
My sentiments exactly.

    * Dharma_and_Greg#1fan
- I don't get it.

Most Favourite Maps:
Kazesui's "Dark Dungeon"
Hedge's "RPG Maker Battle System Museum"
Dudesoft's "Moustache's Hidden Zone"

Least Favourite Maps:
Dragol's for not working for me :(
Psyburn's awful map
Nessiah's horrid anime thing

They were all at least decent otherwise, and most of them were pretty fun. Good job everyone!

p.s.

Fucking RPGs game is designed to prevent people from playing my map hahaha

You just gotta keep replaying Carol until she uses her Ace first, at which point you use your 2 and then beat her 2 with your 3 and her 3 with your ace.

No you don't. Use your ace on her 3, your 2 on her ace and your 3 on her 2 and you win every time regardless of order. :/

@RPG would that update include the forbid main menu in my dark dungeon one? (why was it removed anyway? o,o)

Hard to overlook how the previous alex games seemed better, but was still some cool stuff around

Ekuell  (The Forest of People Who Can't See in the Dark)
okay enough

halibabica (Comic World)
Was a bit hard to make out how it was supposed to look, but I managed. Unique idea, but not my cup of tea I guess

neo prime (Scores and Teleports and Gobi)
short and fun

Dudesoft (Moustache's Hidden Zone)
A really funny map

Ralph (The Murder Inn)
Think you're only allowed to accuse any of the suspects 1 time, because of this the map ended rather quickly, but the idea didn't seem too bad, so I guess I'll try it again later

LordBlueRouge (DodgeThis)
Okay I guess, but sucked a little when I got stuck between a couple of the fires and couldn't move no matter how hard I tried
LordBlueRogue (Convicts, Cliffs n' Criminals)
The minigame in itself is okay enough but... seriously, 3 minutes?! way too long.

fatty (Endless Void II : Samurai Wars)
about as good as the last time..

Skie Fortress (Alex vs. Klaus)
works, but didn't seem as good this time around

Psyburn (Kef Presents: Temple of Tarantino)
annoying pictures, annoying pointless chars, annoying long text, annoying etc.
quiz was okay though

Strangeluv (Bridging the Gap)
short and fun

jsnnoa (RPG Maker Castle)
I saw a 2003 in there... and not much else

Cardinal Ximenez (RPG Maker Hell)
Quite funny actually. Enjoyed this map
Cardinal Ximenez (Most Egregious Abuse of RM2K3)
I don't mind turnedbased action like this, but as you said yourself, sucky implentation

Dragol (1920's)
Really liked this map. Cool effects and funny and really nice atmosphere. probably my favourite

Liman (Icy Peak)
okay I guess

Nerdo (The Old Man With Two Dads)
didn't get it

Liberty (Teaching Tongues)
Quite okay map and fun at times, but got stuck and couldn't continue. ended up cheating my way through.

AznChipmunk (Encounter)
An okay minigame, ended up losing after having won though

Ocean's Dream (Paradise)
nice graphics

PkUltimaga (The Riddle)
nice try

Dyne (Attack of the Clones)
Was okay

Bobberticus (Quebec)
Fun, but too short. seemed like it could have been so much better

Tau (Death)
Quite okay

Nessiah (The Memory)
Nice drawings

hedge[1] (The RPGMaker Battle System Museum)
Really funny

elkalo (Another Forest Map)
way too dark, didn't really catch any atmosphere either

Verridian (Lost Dreams)
a map

Chef Boyardee (Purgatory)
Deep. maybe a tad long

King of Games (Gentleman's Challenge)
Nice, but glitchy

Clucky (Sky Town)
Enjoyed this map

Arcan (Alex Racing)
Made the game crash  :fogetangry:

Sanosuke (Dice and Cards)
Really liked the map, but not being able to walk behind the house and stuff put me a bit off. While I didn't mind your map in any way, your treat was kinda off. I got rather unlucky at the dice also.

RPG (Intro, Worldmap and Ending)
Nice intro, really nice worldmap, unexpected ending

Dharma_and_Greg#1fan
Seemed missplaced

Kazesui, Nightmare
Yeah, it's quite possible to avoid the flames, guess my hints were a bit too subtleKazesui dungeon
Can't really help making difficult things. what I think is "ok" is probably a bit too tough or annoying I guess. And there was supposed to be a forbind main menu command in the intro event to avoid the hassle with the last "mirror alexis". No idea why it's gone

Kazesui:
I'm not sure. I might have removed it while testing the map to be able to save, and then forgot to add it back. That'd explain the problem with 0 on numpad (I don't have a numpad on this laptop so I just use 0 on the keyboard and that doesn't call the main menu). The newer update doesn't fix that, if people find at least one major bug I could fix I might do another update that fixes the problem with your map as well.

Dark Dungeon is my favorite ALEX IS map, by the way.

That would probably explain it, too bad I didn't play the game sooner.
Will hopefully not be that big a problem anyway.

    * Strangeluv (Bridging the Gap)
- This was weird and kind of disappointing considering it came from a guy who made like seven hundred minigames in AHFA.

I never make minigames for Alex games  heh heh

Actually, I might make one if there's a next one (probably not).
Me and Tom Under the Boardwalk ... there is so much fun to have under the boardwalk
