It sounds crazy but I kinda imagine forum members as their avatars e.g. when steel posts I can see someone getting shouted at by gordon ramsay and when rami posts I think that kermit the frog is indeed sitting at a computer somewhere typing away.

 I find it really weird when you look at the member picture thread and they are actually REAL PEOPLE

So at risk of creating another pointless topic, how do you imagine other posters?

I thought that Strangeluv was a white guy who wears a tweed jacket with elbow pads who also smokes cherry tobacco in a pipe but he's actually a crazy wannabe president from T&T.
I imagine ATARI as Maynard James Keenan but that image was also shattered thanks to the member picture thread.
I am also almost convinced that NightBlade sits at his PC wearing a black hooded cape and that he has glowing red eyes.

steel looks like a terrorist so if you're ever walking down the street and see a 7ft. tall hairy guy wearing dark shades with a huge beard listening to genesis then it's probably him

unless I've seen a photo, I prettymuch imagine people as fat nerds, but then after seeing a photo I just see them as what I saw in the photo.

i know what most of the people who i know on here actually look like, so i just imagine that. for some random member i usually associate them with the avatar, unless it's an anime avatar of a woman then you know there's something unpleasant behind it.

I don't know, I guess I just think of everyone as people on forums. I identify avatars with certain members (if they're active and always use the one picture), but not with their actual appearance. But it doesn't make me think of their picture posting or anything.

Yes this is a much better way of wording it. I don't really picture people as like THIS ANIME CHARACTER IS ACTUALLY SITTING AT A COMPUTER but more just associating it with that person's name and personality. Thinking about it I don't really picture people actually typing at all.

I agree man..why do people change their avatar and user name so much? Its just confusing.. I don't see any reason to change one`s user name...

I still cannot see an Ax_Dude post without imagine him being in the midst of a sea of zombies, fighting them off while desperately typing up a post on this forum as if he were recording some sort of memoir.

I mean, I know that probably is the case, but, you know, whatever.

When I see BM post I think of his lab assistant lookin' avatar. And when TFT posts I think of that gay fox thing with pigtails, your pretty ugly in my eyes TFT.

I've never posted a photo of myself, and I rarely look at the picture thread because I prefer to imagine how people look like instead of seeing how they actually do (because I don't want to see how far off I am!)

For example, I picture Marcus as some badass burly black man (and I don't think I've see a photo of him in real life yet so I don't know if I'm close in my assumption or not). For others I actually know how they look like - Kaworu, ASE, Bart, Lars (man, who DOESN'T know how he looks like :P) so I picture them as them.

However, I honestly don't really associate people's usernames with their appearances. I associate then with their name. Before reading a post I always look at who's posting it. Eventually you begin to see people's personalities and they become ingrained with that username.
