One of my housemates deliberately slams doors, throws the toilet seat down when he's finished pissing, punches the light switches on the wall outside my room, sings really loudly in the bathroom when he knows everyone is sleeping and laughs really loud with his girlfriend in the room above with their horrible... cackling.. laughs.

I asked him as politely as I possibly could today if he could keep the noise down at night so I am not too tired when I sit my exams (which start tomorrow) and since then he has been slamming doors to the extent where they sound like they might break or come off their hinges.

What can I do? I can't get angry at him because he will just do it more. I can't ask politely again because that is a sign of weakness that he will exploit. I can't play loud music at night to get back at him because I like my other housemates and I don't want to piss them off.

I thought about putting plastering in an alarm clock in the wall cavity in his room to get my own back but that would just worsen awakenings.

I really hate this guy. I hope he gets raped by a horse.

If it were me I would just embarass him when all the housemates are around. I take it they hate the way he acts, too? I mean, even if he acts all flippant at the time, I don't know anyone who wouldn't feel like an asshole when a group of people all come at you with the same complaints at once.

and if it doesn't stop him, then honestly just fight the guy. beat him up.

there isn't much of interest left in the general forum these days, all the good topics are spread across the other forums. this stuff can sometimes be funny, and it'd be nice if crumply here managed to triumph against an antagonistic housemate - so why don't you shut the trap?

gather all your housemates, get him and you all give him the final warning: "don't do it again or you'll submit yourself to a group beating"

or you could just wait until no one else is around and tell the guy that he needs to stop being a dick before you bust his nose.
