Don't get me wrong, I hate Dragon Quest. The only exception is VIII, and why? because OF THE FRIGGIN HUGE WORLDMAP! I fell in love with that world map and basically said FUCK YOU to the guys that made FFX and were crying about it. "no we didnt make a wordmap because it uses too much data" MY FUCKING ASS you bastard lazy assholes, If DQ8 did it, then FFX should have been able to do it too, but noooooo, all we get it a shitty "click here" MENU.

yeah dude but like i remember when i was like 12 years old and downloaded a bunch of dragon quest roms and i just can vaguely remember roaming around and every two steps having a random encounter which basically consisted of some huge sprite and then a list of actions with boring animations. there was also some stupid story about princesses and dark lords or whateverr. i basically downloaded it because all the RPG gurus were claiming it was great and i liked rpgs.

why is this shit so popular. i dont get it. i can understand why final fantasy is popular or whatever because even if i find it somewhat dumb its entertaining because it has this CINEMATIC appeal.
