I beat the original, and it's a pretty awesome game, all things considered.

I've been really wanting to pick up Freedom Force Versus the Third Reich but it has Starforce so I'm not sure if I want to buy it or not.

Don't IMO. I got it, and even without Starforce (by using the Starforce Remover) it isn't that great. The new heroes suck, the character creator isn't as great and doesn't support FF1 very well, and there is 0 online players at all times.
