hahahaha man this is getting stupid but okay! fuck it!
there are two kinds of fame i guess and for talking sake i'll call one fame and the other celebrity. celebrity is worthless - celebrity is being famous for being famous, being famous for being paris hilton etc. these people have not achieved anything remarkable, they aren't intelligent, impressive, brave or special in any way. they are simply famous, they are cardboard stock personalities like DIVA who people like to read about because people are stupid. this kind of fame i find really unattractive and i kind of feel lame by even talking about it. it's so bad, so worthless and stupid that putting more thought into it than "pfft, idiots." is embarassing.
the other kind of fame is more like being renowned. you've done something and people know about you because it was remarkable, intelligent, impressive, brave or special. you are a renowned author, filmmaker. a renowned politicial activist, or humanitarian - whatever you done, or how you live, it's remarkable so people know about you for it. this isn't fame of personality, although it usually helps, but you've got some substance there and people are interested because you do interesting things.
that kind of fame i wouldn't have any particular problem with. i mean the paparazzi are banging down the doors of the jokes and the spectacles, not the substantial. cos you can't get a scandal out of those guys which can be explained in a headline.
i don't have any particular desire to be famous, but sure if i done something which i was proud of then i'd liked to be recognised for it in that field. people coming up "oh you're mr. jamicus, eh? i heard about that smashing report of yours! have a cigar why don't you!?!?!" - anybody would love that shit.
but the other kind is indulgent, pornographic, debasing and gross.
