This so annoying ARRGGG :fogetangry:
one teeny, tiny update is stoping me from installing SP1 (i want the stability dammit) but it won't install and i don't know what to do.
The update is:

the error code i get is :80073715

I can't tell you much more but i really need to know what i can do to fix it, since its:
a) stoping me from updateing
b) anoying me since it means somthing is wrong and i don't like it

so please, help me?

EDIT: i notice that when i download this update in microsoft update, it gets stuck at 7% before it tells me it failed

Download SP1 manually and try installing it. Microsoft updater has been horrible with service packs in my experience.

ok, downloaded, tried to install, but it fails like minites in with the same error code.

EDIT: i fixed the problem, i disabled driver signing to install the audi drivers (was using vista stasndard drivers as i didn't think this would matter) but after i downloaded and installed the drivers, SP 1 is now installing still a bloddy shame having to much about like this. Why can't microsoft make vista less pissy about things like this? do they enjoy making uss needlessly suffer? do they get some sort of sick joy like some city planer from north england who admited to turning around all the one way signs becuase its fun to annoy drivers (true story)?

EDIT: how long should SP1 take to install? since the instilation has been running since i last updated this post. might be at 99%, not sure since i'm currently at college.

depending on how fast you r system is it could take a while, roughly between 15 mins and an hour

sigh, it finnnaly finished updating, yay! but now i have other problems to deal with, any idea on how to tuyrn off driver signing Perminantly? since doing going into CMd and changing the boot file doens't seem to work.
