psyburn do you find it embarrassing that a lot of people who were waiting in line for kojima's autograph thought you were socially awkward to the point where they thought you were drunk at all

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

No, because I'm hardcore.

I mean they weren't like "YOu'RE ANNOYING DRUNK". It was more like LOL UR DRUNK. They were cool about it, it was just all chillin' y'know. One of the more badass cosplayers and I started singing the Snake Eater theme. It was cool

Hhahhahahahha this is ridiculous and awesome, the way you described Hideo signing your game. Why didn't you take the time out to think of something cool to say before hand?

Hideo Kojima knows limited English.

By limited English I mean....REALLY limited English. Like probably 5 words maybe.

Psyburn, that's really cool. I know a lot of people here don't really get this kind of stuff but I think that's pretty badass. Fuck you for having a legit MG2 copy and getting that shit signed. Fuck you for getting the only silver marker signature too.

But otherwise, very awesome. Grats.

Yeah man, I mean, I probably wouldn't have been that excited (I haven't played any Metal Gear games besides Acid, which doesn't count very much, but I should have a copy of MGS in the next few weeks) but knowing you ACHEIVED A DREAM makes me feel really, really good.  The excitement just sort of rubbed off I guess!

Actually in NY, if you're slightly weird, people think you're drunk or high, especially if you're a teenager because chances are,  you are high or drunk.

Also, I would not wait in line for that long. I saw this guy dressed up as Solid Snake at Times Square today though.

EDIT: Psyburn, if you were really hardcore, and you dreamed of this moment forever, you would've learned Japanese so you could speak to him.  :fogetbackflip:

Congrats on getting your shit signed.

Why was he surprised by that game? Is it rare or something, I don't get why he was surprised you brought him something he made to sign even though most people were just getting mgs4 signed

I thought it was really funny how you thought FREAKS at that fat girl or whatever but a lot of other people in the line obviously thought the same about you. restraining order indeed.....

Like headphonics, most people don't talk about his early work anymore. But the major thing is that MG2:SS is a very rare game. It's not very often that he signs MSX games.

EDIT:
Some guy took photos of everyone in line

Congrats dude, pretty badass. Not sure I could go through such lengths, but I definitely am envious of you getting that game signed (or even owning the game).  Awesome stuff. :)

I don't care much for most of this story, but

the fact you brought MG2 and had him sign it is very smart and cool, actually. Not only were you the only guy in the line to get a reaction out of him, you probably made him pretty happy. And, I'm sure you weren't the only one hoping to achieve a dream, but you sure achieved it better than anyone else.

Man, that was a great story, but you still should have said something to him... Just pick words that he'd probably heard before. Picture it: you go in, he's sitting there, you toss him a copy of the game to sign, he autographs it, and in the split second he pauses to hand it back, you lean forward and say "cheeseburger spiderman dollars" or something. He'd have been confused and slightly freaked out, and in that one second you'd have strucken a blow for anyone who played MGS2.

Also, are you going to sell the cover once it reaches a certain level of value or is it a 'pass on to my grandchildren' kind of thing?
