The Flobots are an alternative rock/rap group from Denver, Colorado, formed in January 2005. To date, they have released two albums. The Flobots found mainstream success with its major label debut Fight With Tools (2007), featuring the single "Handlebars", which became a popular hit on Modern Rock radio in April 2008

Quote from: Wikipedia
Flobots formed as a side project for the two lead emcees, Jonny 5 (not to be confused with former Marilyn Manson guitarist John 5) and Brer Rabbit. They teamed up with violist Mackenzie Roberts, bassist Jesse Walker, guitarist Andy Guerrero (from funk band Bop Skizzum), trumpet player Joe Ferrone (also from Bop Skizzum), and drummer Kenny Ortiz. By the year's end, their unique instrumentation and politically and socially charged music became popular in their hometown of Denver, and the Flobots became a full time project.[1]

Quote from: Flobots Webpage
When a pair of intelligent, visionary emcees joins forces with a battle-hardened, groove-fusing rhythm section, a classically trained violist, and a jazz trumpet player, the result is a sound that explores and expands the frontiers of live hip-hop.  Progressive in both style and message, the band's ability to drop from symphonic rock-infused crescendos into stripped-down string-laden breakbeats has earned Flobots a reputation for both originality and authenticity.

Flobots are a politically motivated Alternative Rock/Rap group, with a full band including trumpeter and violinist creating sounds consisting from a sort of Jazziness to funk to full on kickassrocksoloherecomesbadasshiphoprymesyo.

That single is ok, I know when they get real angry or whatever I probably wouldn't like them a whole lot. Something about their style doesn't completely click with me :( but I'm like that with some hiphop.

When I first loaded up Handlebars I didn't think I'd like this but it just kind of builds. It's pretty good with the kind of combination of hip-hop elements with jazziness and rocking out. I'm not very good at describing music but I'm having a listen to Fight With Tools at the moment and it's COOL, probably because of how all the parts fit together than any one specific feature. Thanks for this.

Sadly, to me it sounds like Eminem set to talented musicians'.

The handlebars song is alright, but even by now it's been played the shit out of on my local radio.

I've heard of them for a while now. I think their lyrics are perfect, but they really need a better rapper. The guy sounds very very corny.

I mean the leading one in Handlebars.

Dude, I found Handlebars on some sort of lame music on demand channel, and like most of you didn't like it at first. Then it really grew on me and it's become one of my favorite songs. I haven't listened to much of their other songs but if they're anything comparable to Handlebars i'm sure i'll love them.
However, your youtube videos are live, and I've never liked live songs (especially not on youtube)
don't mind me, just postin' after a few brewskies
somebody’s Barkley --- could be another’s Monopolo.

It took me a while to get into these guys, but once I did I really started to appreciate what they have to say.  I think it's way too rare in this day and age that musicians are actually trying to get across a positive message in their music...I mean, their lead singer even did this video to get young people to go out and vote, and frankly I think that's awesome.  "Rise" -- best song I've heard this year.

who cares if it is six months old?  i have absolutely no idea why that would bother anyone and i never got the NO... NO BUMPING thing.  explain to me why this is bad?  the worst thing it could lead to is the discussion being picked up again.
