Going to Arvikafestivalen next week. Decent line-up, mostly there for the metal and synth/ebm bands tho. Can't wait to see Combichrist, Assemblage 23 and Suicide Commando.

just got back from roskilde

I spent last night until like 6 am talkin to a pitchfork journalist about random shit like the norwegian language and danish girls

so basically i didnt go to a lot of concerts:

<larsdood> i saw: Lady Saw, Fedde le Grande, FRÉDÉRIC GALLIANO KUDURO SOUND SYSTEM, Girl Talk, Chemical Brothers and Digitalism

i tend to avoid headliners and the only of those i went to was chemical brothers and as i expected it wasnt very fun. i prefer the 2000-4000 people stages and not the huge arena and orange scenes

girl talk was really really fun, so was fedde le grande and frederic galliano etc.

oh you missed a fucking shit-tonne of amazing bands. i mean obviously you don't like them, but you didn't go see basically 5 of my favourite bands of all fucking time. it's a shame, man. i would've loved to have gone.

yeah im generally too tired to see two concerts in one night because i tend to go berserk on funkily movin' about but if there's anything important i do it twice or more (like girl talk & frederic galliano & chemical brothers were in 1 nite)

also seeing rock bands ive never heard anything of is probably the least fun thing to do at a festival imho. same goes with hip hop i havent heard. with funky dance music it doesnt really matter altho knowing the songs there makes it even more awesome

All of a sudden I got back interested in gigs.
I already bought tickets for Broken Social Scene.
And might get some ticket to see the Melvins.
And I heard Jesus and Mary Chains (which I heard now and dig) are coming to some Festival over here so might go for that one as well. This one isn't totally confirmed yet.

I think that's cool considering nobody gives a shit about south america except for Rio.

Oh, definitely go see Jesus and Mary Chain if you can. They're meant to be really good live, I haven't seen them yet!

And I went to the festival I mentioned in my first post, T in the Park. Rage Against the Machine were out of this world amazing (I don't really listen to their music but as a gig it was fantastic), MGMT were great and REM were shit. Oh, and someone got stabbed 8 times and another guy died in his tent due to a heart attack or something. NOT THE BEST YEAR. I've been twice before and it was incredible so I'm going again next year but this year was a let-down.
