I'm working 40h a week at minimum wage (8,50$ over here) at a Tim Hortons and aside from the fact that I basically have little to no life since I work 5 days a week from 7:00PM to 3:00AM (will at least have my week-ends in July and August) my job is not that bad. I get to work with a bunch of hot, nice girls and get about 100$ in tips each week.

I set out at about 10:00 pm to climb up onto the roofs of restaurants that have closed for the night and clean their ventilation systems with high-powered bleach, a pressure washer, and a scraper.  It's just dangerous enough to be entertaining and I get paid $12.00/hr for it.

The only problem is that work is scarce.  I do maybe two jobs a week if I'm lucky, so I only make about $140 per week max.  However, we got a Japanese place coming up in a month or two that'll take up to three days with 12 hour shifts each day.  I'm gonna make either $300 in two days or around $450 in three.

It's not perfect, but I guess it'll get the bills paid.

I'm supposed to be getting a job with my church like a did last year as a camp counselour in the "Tech Arts" division of the summer camp. It was awesome because I got to help some good kids (9-12, which I think is a pretty nice age) learn how to take pictures, create slideshows, and use Photoshop. It was two weeks only, though, and more of a "salaried" position (I got paid $500 at the end of the camp), but it was worth it, because it didn't feel like work at all. :)

But they haven't called me back yet, and training is on Monday...

I would suggest childcare or waitering, except I've heard that they pay you below minimum wage when you do it and you have to collect the balance with your tips. Or something. Around here it's not too hard to find a job because there are like 5 theme parks that are pretty much always hiring. But seeing as I might have two weeks taken up by the camp thing, I don't want to commit myself to a full seasonal/part-time position.

There's two easy ass jobs that are pretty much expecting you to work for short periods of time/summer. They are waiting and lifeguarding. You dont do shit in lifeguarding, you just chill next to a 5 foot pool where people never drown for eight hours a day. It's not too bad, Ive done it a few summers and its extremely chill just extremely boring but you can pull in around 8 dollars an hour doing that. My current job is being a waiter, it is pretty much easy as hell and using tips as an hourly wage Im ranging around 18 dollars an hour for bringing out drinks, food, and smiling. it's pretty easy and the hours are banging. So yea, waiting or life guarding will be the best choice for a summer job. go you.

i also sell adderall for around 400 dollaz a month. not bad!

I just got a call from a friend of mine who needs me to come help him run a fireworks tent for a couple of weeks!

We get to sleep in a giant tent full of explosives and make 10% commission on whatever we sell.  Apparently he thinks it's gonna be a good year and we'll make around $1000 a piece in about 14 days.

Woo!

A "summer job" I have right now is at Social Security, but my supervisor told me that if I do a good enough job, I could be one of the few students who can work all year round.

I thought about waiting, but I'm terrible with balance. I'd drop everything.

My problem isn't BALANCING THINGS as much as it's not spilling the boiling hot Miso soup on my hand every time I prepare a bowl of it. I did this at least 4 times!

I got myself a job in a grocery store pretty recently. Started on Sunday, working 8 to 17 or 8 to 16. I've got a few days off every week, though. Minimum wage (8.50$ CDN) but that's cool with me. I'm probably gonna keep it when school picks up again, though only on weekends, preferrably.

So I decided not to get another summer job and instead I'm going to be working part time at the photolab where I work all the time and then I am also going to go and take half-credit film course on Stanley Kubrik at the university.

I don't think I have ever been drug tested at a job before, which is wierd because I worked for the hydro and gas utilities for a couple years in damage prevention, control, and assessment.

I didn't get drug tested, surprisingly. I did get a background check, though.

Lol no, it's MISO. This kind: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miso
It's the boiling soy paste, mixed with tofu squares, seaweed, and chives. It's also pretty disgusting.

I got a job last summer bagging groceries at a brand new grocery store for $6.55/hour. I'm still there now doing the same thing for 40 cents more.

I also picked up a second summer job working at American Eagle Outfitters. Less pay and fewer hours, but you don't deal with near as much shit as you do working a grocery store.
