There's a month to go and the other topic has served it's purpose. This one is for discussions about how people are getting to the meet and what everyone wants to do when they're here.

If you need directions to my house pm me your email address; I'll be sending out a few mass emails with driving instructions, phone numbers, etc. I'll keep a list here in this topic of people that have directions and people that still need directions, so no one is forgotten.

Just a reminder, the meet will be held over three days - July 18th (Friday) to July 20th (Sunday). You're welcome to show up anytime on the Friday and you can go back anytime on the Sunday. Our main day of activities (beach trip, etc) will be on the Saturday.

Things to Bring:
Pillow
Sleeping Bag or something to use for covers (it'll be pretty warm weather)
Swim Suit
Cash (for food)
Alcohol (we have a liquor store and a beer store just down the road from my place so you could get your stuff there if you want)
Sunscreen (Sun Tan Lotion/whatever you call it)

Things We'll Need (updated):
(this list will be updated as I think of things and I'll cross out entries or something when things are confirmed as being brought)
One cooler for the beach (for sandwiches)
~~Beach Stuff~~ (I'll just buy/find some things)

I'm just curious; where is your house? I'm assuming since Jeff is going that it's in Florida or somewhere close.

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

My brother and I are confirmed. My girlfriend wants to go but it'll be hard for her to take a Saturday off in July

Does anyone near the Waterloo, Kitchener area need a drive? If Moriason is coming, I assume he needs a drive?

this will be quite the pasty white sausage fest at the beach imo

Oh man! Guys i wish i was you know NOT IN NEWFOUNDLAND! i'm totally game for it next year as next year in july after my friends wedding is when im goin to Alberta. If i'm driving i'm going to Ontario. if not i kinda wanna have a day or 2 in Toronto anyway:/

No I am done school but I live in Kitchener and work in Waterloo so PERHAPS we will cross paths one day as I tend to go out to various geek-ish outings in the town

Directions from Toronto: Take the 401 from Toronto to London and uh, go to his house when he tells us the address!

Also the meets are generally PRETTY FUN. They get more enjoyable as the night goes on because I think initially a lot of people are nervous and don't know how to act and then they loosen up. I'm fine regardless as I've been to almost all of them and I am just naturally A-OK with strangers and new people

Heh, Bart, I think FlowerPower meant is the student life 101 worth going to. Also, I can hand out directions to each person one by one I suppose. I'll work on getting those tonight for Wash Cycle, FlowerPower and Bart. Make sure you RSVP or at least reply to the pms I send out to make sure they got through ok.

Jump in the Thames and start swimming; it eventually crosses over into the Thames here in London, Ontario. I'll come fish you out near Springbank Park as it's a short walk from where I live.

Edit: I'll keep updating the list of confirmed people as they post in this topic. It sounds like most everyone from the other topic is in, though.

Okay I probably can't go for the entire weekend anymore but I'm pretty sure I can make it for the Saturday at the beach. That might be weird though as I'm sure the beach would be crowded and I wouldn't really know what to look for...

We won't be leaving for the beach until noon or so. If you can make it to London before then you'd be able to carpool with us.
