yeah, bale's always done that.  i have no idea why.  and idk i wouldn't mind joker being IN MOVIES as long as he is not the focal point or even really close to being one at all.  i mean he has always just kind of BEEN THERE in batman so i think it'd be silly to write him out of the equation completely in future movies, even if he's just there to kind of make you aware that he's still there.

Speaking of making the villains more 'badass' for future films, I had a thought as to how they could do a pretty cool Clayface. They could present him as a guy who is a master of imitation, body language, etc and uses complex makeup and prosthetics to imitate people. He wouldn't be a real threat to Batman, though... Kind of like Scarecrow in Begins.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Warner Bros. executive says the Batman sequel "The Dark Knight" has taken in $155.34 million to top "Spider-Man 3" for best opening weekend ever at the box office.
The figures released Sunday show "The Dark Knight" more than $4 million ahead of the $151.1 million first weekend for "Spider-Man 3" in May 2007.
Studio distribution chief Dan Fellman says "The Dark Knight" also broke the "Spider-Man 3" record for best debut in IMAX large-screen theaters with $6.2 million. "Spider-Man 3" opened with $4.7 million in IMAX cinemas.

This is with Sunday's estimate. I hope it goes above the estimate. Also, forget the muscular Mr. Freeze.  How about the albino-esque Paul Bettany in that role.  I think he'd be great, as Mr. Freeze that is.

Yeah I'd love to see Mr. Freeze. Some of the other villains though, I just don't see in a movie. They could fit them in and make them better but man idk.

Like, the Penguin, all I picture is that big silly fat guy with a pointy nose from the cartoons when I was little.

Yeah, Mr. Freeze would probably be the best option, although Catwoman might work as a kind of side-villain or something.

I'd also like to see their interpretation of Robin, that would be pretty interesting!

Bale said if they get a robin then he's out. And Catwoman got ruined with Halle Berry. If they could do a canon version of Selina Kyle then I think it could work well.

What are you talking about canon versions? Why does it matter if a film completely follows messy DC continuity? I think what made The Dark Knight so good is that they didn't focus on perfectly translating character to film. With Two-Face for example, I don't think they'd completely recreate his origin perfectly when they could just create the character in the context of the film's storyline (which is much more effective).

Also Selina Kyle's original is all tangled, making a "canon version of Selina Kyle" would make a third movie suck ass. It wouldn't work at all.

I'm not surprised Bale doesn't want a Robin.  I think that would get a little TOO CLOSE to being just any other Batman movies.  Maybe if they want to allude to it or something with BOY LEFT ORPHANED IN CIRCUS TRAGEDY on the front page of a paper somewhere that would be cool, though.  Catwoman sort of feels like it is also getting too close to the other movies, but who knows.  Maybe she'd be alright but I don't really want that SIDEVILLAIN shit to happen because it just ruins movies.

Geez, even after getting 46.000 votes, The Dark Knight still has its 9.7 score and the no.1 spot on IMDB's top #250

Amazing! I'm watching this on Friday.

I really want to see Riddler, but not the dumb Jim Carrey version, the awesome guy in the green suit in Batman: TAS. That guy was probably my favorite villain in the Batman universe.

Also I really want to see Harley Quinn make an appearance.

YES!

This movie was great. I don't know if it was the greatest thing ever, but it was definitely enjoyable and deeper than your average summer flick.

Thing about Harley Quinn is she's usless w/o Joker.

The thing about the Riddler is that it he can't be too similar to the Joker.  Also, I think that if he appeared in the next film everyone would be comparing him to the joker because they are similar.  I am completely against Robin because I don't see it fitting into this new Batman world that Nolan has created.  Also, any new villains must be fairly real.  Nolan has said he doesn't want this to be very magical or unreal.  That's why I think Mr. Freeze or the Riddler could be done.  My first choice would be the Riddler if done very differently than the Joker (but still just as awesomely).  Who would play the role of Catwoman, though?    If Catwoman is in the next film it will either make or break it.

The Joker briefly alluded to and if that's to be believed then its certainly plausible. I really think a darker, grungier version of Harley would look incredible, I can imagine her wearing a porcelain mask or something of the sort, a la a French mime.

That's why I thought a version of the Riddler more akin to the animated series would be better. In that he was cool and collected, and despite being egotistical he was more cunning than outright anarchic and psychopathic.

Man IMDB is pretty gay, there's no way it deserves that. I imagine it'll level out soon. The Dark Knight boards are a cesspool of shit at the moment as well.

I'm really happy about the opening though, it definitely deserved a big opening and one this big pretty much assures studios that people will actually go see really good superhero movies rather than throwaway crap.

Riddler is actually very cold, calculating and reserved in his actions. His approach is totally different to the Joker's. I'd love to see the Riddler in this new series of films.

I can't tell since I haven't seen the movie but the thing about this is that no other movie in ages has kept its rating after so many votes. WALL-E started out with 9.3 and everyone was amazed about it. After around 40k votes, it's "down" to 8.8. The rating started decline after day 1 while The Dark Knight went from 9.6 to 9.7 and still has it even after nearly 47k votes. Whatever happens, the movie will definitely stay on Top 10, possibly Top 5. We'll see what happens when the rest of the world gets to see it.
