I think basicially what you are arguing is the persons intention (which you can never really know btw), but yeah I could see both this and Steels livejournal being done in a very gay way. What you are saying is that you think she is overdramatising, but I think in a topic like this you can at least pretend to tolerate it a little or give her the benefit of the doubt or whatever instead of "LOL I'LL QUOTE A PAGE OF TEXT AND JUST REPLY WITH I DONT CARE BWA HAHAHA" because if she is being 100% legitimate then you are being 100% insensitive dick.  I wouldnt want that on my conscience tbh. Plus who really knows what type of relief talking about this may have on an individual.

Yeah I dont necessarily agree or disagree about whether it is attention whoring or not I just think that it's being handled pretty badly because if she is telling it exactly how it is was then I wouldnt like to hear people saying "HAHAHHHAA YOU ARE OVER EXAGERATING, I MET SOME GIRLS THAT LIED ABOUT THIS". Argue her intentions all you like but at least be a little sensitive, what if she is telling it how it was? That would make what you are saying pretty fucked up.

i mean you guys act like anyone SHUT HER DOWN when really the entire argument sprung from a few people asking questions/making off-hand comments about how her post sort of came across.  aside from STEEL BEING MAD no one was really being all that insensitive to begin with.  the whole thing was pretty tame and tbh i think the UGH YOU GUYS ARE DISGUSTING/INSENSITIVE reactions are a little over the top.

Guys, when I was fourteen I had a lot of the same views as her. I had almost the EXACT SAME viewpoint of gays. I grew out of that on my own.

you know what i think is shitty?  using a horrible, life-ruining event to get attention and sympathy from a bunch of strangers.  it cheapens the whole thing, and i don't think it's okay or beyond reproach to do it whether it actually happened or not.
