yeah so after MUCH PRESSURE i'm trying to buy a stupid ethernet cable so i can activate my xbox live account but i do not want to go to the store and spend like $50 on one. soooo

is this what i would be looking for?  i am not very WELL VERSED in internet cables and i'm pretty sure cat5 is what i need to connect my xbox to my router but cat5e seems like something different and i do not want to order it only to find it has one too many prongs or some shit.  so yes any help would be great thanks!!

Cat5 enhanced. It'll work fine.

Anything newer is backwards compatible with the older cables in this case. CAT5 will work where CAT3 is required, CAT5e is most common, and CAT6 will work where CAT5/e and CAT3 are required.

Cat 5 is rated for 100mbps ethernet, so it will be the minimum you will need. Cat 5e is an improved version that allows rates up to 1gbps. You really shouldn't get Cat 5e if its just for your 360, unless you also plan to use it with gigabit ethernet, or are planning on running it for a very long distance, in which case the 5e would help with attenuation.
