Hey techies, I need a little guidance.

I want to start a new personal website where I can just post random shit that I am interested in. I share a server with my dad but that's a bit of a responsibility because I am always scared of one of my members posting something unacceptable to him or accidentally putting in a line of php or mysql that fucks up his database.

I am a student lame-o so I can't really afford much. I can probably pay for the domain for the year etc - can someone experienced advise what would be best? (Or even give me space and databases??)

I just want a site with php and mysql that I can edit via ftp and phpmyadmin that can be accessed at http://www.crumply.net (Once I have bought the domain).

What I want to know really is:
- Who is good to buy my domain off? i.e. cost/service
- Is there a cheap way to get the php/database things I require and if so link me
- Can one of you guys help me set up my site?

Would really appreciate your help, danke shon.

How much per month are you able to pay? 1and1s domains are 7 dollars a year or one free with a hosting plan (mine costs roughly 60 dollars a year). You can probably go through quotaless or another free site for hosting as well though if that's too much, or maybe ask leafo to hook you up.

Wow that is cheap. So all I gotta do is justify spending £8 on the domain *saves*
