So, I've come up with this interesting new Web Chat protocool, called the Relay Automated Protocool for Text OpeRations (Or RAPTOR, for short).
The system works similar to IRC, and some IRC commands are compatible (/join, /msg, /topic, etc.) but mainly, the biggest feature of RAPTOR is the ability to program with it.
So, it's like a programming IDE on wires. It sends script, it recieves script, and it also supports plugins for new types of script. The main scripting language is Basic4GL, which is the native language of the program. To get information about B4GL, go to
www.Basic4GL.net and check it out.
Anyways, the server is up right now, so it's a rare chance to try out the system before its official release on Agust 5th, which is the set date for the Team3Soft DSL server to go online.
The RAPTOR Client (An early Beta of the client) is available as one file at
www.Team3Soft.com/RAPTOR.exe (in fact, you can RUN instead of DOWNLOAD if that is better for you, if you can't download files at the moment)
If you get the VelociRAPTOR Alpha, at
www.team3soft.com/VelociRAPTOR.zip you can script using the command syntax: /script <language> <code here>
The only plugins I have in the works are Ruby and Turbo C. Ruby is my top priority plugin. I can't code in Ruby, but I've begun working on it for a friend, and he's been paying me back by beta testing the new VelociRAPTOR client.
Well, good luck with this.
Feedback is GREATLY welcomed.
Also note that you must have a Pentium III 1GHZ or Faster, 128MB of RAM, 32MB of 3D acceleration, and at least Windows 98 (2GHz P4, 256MB RAM, 32MB 3D and WinXP recommended).
The server is
online.
