I have resently purchused an external capture card... (go me) and it did not come with a software to record data...
Is there any (free) programs out there which I can use to record, that do not take up 80gigs (which was the program i was using before)

What? The program you were using took up 80 gigs by itself? Are you sure about that?

It's surprising it didn't come with any? Is this brand new or used? Normally you would just download the software that it would have come with, but if there really is none, try looking for programs that are compatible with that model.

Video Express... It came with a software that allowed me to view it on my computer... but not record.
And yes, the other software was 80gs, I was cruising through the program add/remove list and saw it...
moment I saw that... I said screw it and uninstalled it... considering all it could do was record footage.

That was probably temp files. When you record it puts it in temp files before you save it.

But windows movie maker will capture video from one of those.
