I had never before heard the Duke Nukem theme in its entirety and its actually really great now that I listen to it. I'm really diggggging this musics.

And its pretty funny because even with this joke trailer with zero gameplay and whatever I'm already convinced that whatever they are making is gonna be excellent.

EDIT:
I cannot address enough how funny/ridiculous it is how everyone is posting "LOL SHITY TRALER, WASTE OF TIME" in the comments and cannot understand that its a fucking joke.

I am buying Duke Nukem. Fuck it. Any company that makes a trailer like that are simply the best.
I steer clear from all this E3 shit, but that is quite simply the best advert ever. No bullshit just

yeah it is a pretty cool trailer and it makes all the slow motion high-def texture ultra sleek hollywood megabucks technology!!! trailers look stupid, which is also cool. i mean i never thought duke nukem was anything special, just a trashy game with a juvenile sense of humour but now i might actually give it a second look when it comes out.

I watched a few other of these trailers and they just make the Duke Nukem one seem even better.

I haven't even watched the E3 video for this game yet. I don't think the game was mentioned much.
Edit: To make this post more useful, I don't think there's too much to talk about yet. The game looks great, though.
Okay go to gametrailers to see the trailer or something. It apparently isn't playing on my computer.

The song is 'Breeze' and its from the Silent Hill 3 soundtrack.

Also the vid you posted is just basically a compilation of all the old footage from like a year back so that doesn't quench my thirst much but I'm gonna look around youtube if they'd have some E3 footage there.

EDIT:

Silent Hill 5 E3 Trailer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUx6eDJ5iz0&feature=related

Yeah this is looking good. There's a definite improvement in the voice acting when compared to the previous installments and overall even though it isn't by Team Silent its definetly a Silent Hill game.

Gameplay 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPLqmEFsCeI&feature=related

I think this is supposed to be the streets of Silent Hill but who knows its so fucking dark that you can't see anything besides what the flashlight points at. I can't make out much of what happens so can't really say much about this. I'm not entirely sure if I like the mosnters with bright stuff inside them but who knows maybe its just reflects the flashlight light for the most part????

Gameplay 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQNDtzziLy0

This one I'd imagine is pretty claustrophobic when you actually play it since you are stuck in an elevator and all these weirs long armed fucks come through the walls. The part where the guy cuts the creeps hand shows that the moinsters really get bruised and cut up when you beat them. The cut looks pretty realistic I suppose, as realistic as a cut on a demon can look anyways.

Anyways they said that this will eventually come to PC too so I'm pretty pumped about this. Theres more vids I guess but I dont want to clear my way through to the real ones right now.

Nurses have huge tits now.

What?

Anyway, SH5 looks pretty hot. The fighting seems pretty... idk, I don't think I can describe how I feel about it. It doesn't look like before, but it looks fine. Kinda looks like it could drag on though, but then again, monsters in SH4 toughed quite some time too.. hmm

And yeah, the elevator part looks very very claustrophobic, which, for a game like this, is perfect and awesome.

Also, the Silent Hill soundtracks all have really good songs. They're pretty great.

Yeah the monsters seem like they take a lot of punishment before they go down and I recall a gameplay vid where the guy fought one of those zombie dogs and it took like 20+ seconds to kill it and knocked the guy down twice so I dunno maybe its because he only had a melee weapon but I'd guess the difficulty has gone up a lot. At least in SH3 you didn't need any ammo or weapons after you got the sword, just a few priests or whatever those fuckers are called that you needed to gun down with shotgun.

I dunno how the difficulty really was in SH4 because I only played it through once and thought that it was garbage and didn't want to see it again.

But you know, the fighting has always been pretty shitty in SH games so maybe this time its gonna be better and thus they need to buff up the enemies too.

Iwata So Very Very Sorry For Nintendo's E3 Presser

Quote
Of all the lowlights of last week's E3 "festivities", none were lower than Nintendo's press conference. A fact I'm sure, by now, they're acutely aware of. And in response to the, uh, less than warm reception to their offerings, Nintendo President Satoru iwata is sorry.

"If there is any perception that Nintendo is ignoring the core gamers, it's a misunderstanding and we really want to get rid of that misunderstanding by any means. We are sorry about [the E3] media briefings, specifically for those who were expecting to see Nintendo show something about 'Super Mario' or 'Legend of Zelda.'"

"Sorry" is a strong, and surprisingly powerful word to pull out. Probably won't do anything to sooth the strained neck veins of the outraged faithful, but it's a nice gesture regardless.

well that's nice

Haha well, Wii seriously has nothing good going for it right now and Mario and Zelda have always been Nintendo's best games so yeah. And Nintendo has usually made the best games for their own consoles. I don't seriously get how Wii is selling so well given how horrible its library of games is. All we get are these shitty wii fitnesses and sports and whatever which are apparently meant to appeal to non gamers. I don't really like this new trend! It's also funny how there still hasn't been a real game which uses Wiimote well. Or maybe Zack & Wiki but I haven't played it yet. People said this before Wii was released but it has really become one huge gimmick.

Wii is such a huge letdown, I don't understand how Nintendo's fans cannot see how utterly disappointing it has been so far even if it sells well.

Also, why do you say Mario and Zelda are horrible? Mario Galaxy is easily one of the best platformers ever and Zelda is definitely one of the better videogame series. I'm really looking forward to Wii's own Zelda because I'm hoping it will be at least something a bit different. And even though Twilight Princess didn't really do anything new (those secret skills were a nice addition though) and followed the same GO TO DUNGEONS GET MASTER SWORD GO TO MORE DUNGEONS formula, it was still really good.

well imo aside from that one for the gba that was kind of cool zelda has been pretty stale for a long time now!  i wouldn't say it's anything above mediocre.  also i've never played mario galaxy but most mario games tend to be pretty dumb since it's one of those series that's sort of flooded the market with all the games nintendo makes out of him!

Yeah I know, Zelda is really stale. I'm pretty sure every single Zelda game has followed the same formula since Link to the Past. The gameplay has remained nearly identical in every game in the series. It hasn't bothered me too much since they release Zelda once in two or three years and they usually come up with some new ideas which make new Zelda games feel a bit fresh. Majora's Mask is a great example, it used OoT's engine and was pretty identical as far as core gameplay is concerned but the game still felt different because the whole idea behind the game was so different, plus the mask system introduced some new gameplay elements which was cool. Wind Waker on the other hand was more of the same but at least the world made it feel pretty different. Twilight Princess is definitely closest to OoT. The Twilight World is pretty useless but playing as a wolf was pretty cool and the new skills added depth to the gameplay. Zelda series is seriously long overdue for a good skill system and even though Twilight Princess was a step in the right direction.

Anyway, even though it's stale, the thing about Zelda is that it's just so well made. It's really polished, gameplay is nearly flawless and the dungeons are usually varied and very well designed. Zelda games have great atmosphere and are fun to play because it's simple but varied enough. But even so, I would definitely want to see Nintendo doing something new with Zelda because I think it could definitely be improved still. They should get rid of the dungeon formula and try to fit them in the actual game world, add a good skill system, maybe for once write a story which is actually interesting and get rid of silent hero, plus introduce some new villains.

You know, all of Nintendo's series are really stale. Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Super Smash, you name it. They all follow the same formula which was introduced god knows how many years ago. You should still play Mario Galaxy though. The gameplay is pretty identical to other Mario games but the whole MARIO IN SPACE deal and gravity adds more to it and makes it really fun and the level design is seriously fantastic! And while other 3D Mario games have been about exploring huge 3D levels, Mario Galaxy is much more linear and focused. The levels change depending on what mission you play and it's really well done. I'm not one to hype Nintendo's games and Sunshine wasn't that great but Mario Galaxy is easily one of the best platformers I have played.

idk i just find zelda games boring because it generally feels like i am playing the same game over and over.  the gist of the story, the items, the dungeons, the bosses, it's all basically the same game.  i liked the one for the gba because different items at least brought a little variation but aside from that (keep in mind i never played majora's mask!) i usually do not enjoy them much.  the dungeons are well PLANNED but i think the difficulty is frequently very off, as it alternates between stuff that's not challenging at all and ridiculous cockblocks.  i think if the difficulty was better and if they revamped the combat so that it was more than HAMMER A and maybe had some skills like you said, and tossed out the old and boring items (hookshot!!!) then i'd be more into it, because on a fundamental level i am at least open to adventure games.

anyway, i've never gotten into super smash brothers, but i think mario/metroid have evolved a decent amount over the years.  compared to them, zelda seems much worse when it comes to lack of evolution!  like metroid and mario both gained a lot, i felt, when going from 2d to 3d, while zelda just felt like it was MORE ZELDA but in 3d now instead.  maybe it's just me but it is one of those series where i start to play the games because i think i'll enjoy them, and end up being really horrendously bored 80% of the time i'm playing it.

also i typically enjoy mario platformers, i just meant more along the lines of MARIO GOES FISHING et al.  i'd play it but i don't own a wii so!

To be fair the only Mario games I have ever really THOROUGHLY enjoyed have been Super Mario World, Super Mario RPG, and Mario Party during the N64 era (I think 2 was the one that was my favorite, I haven't played the newer Mario Party games but they look kind of shit!).  Only one of those is a real "Mario" game gameplay-wise (well, RPG had some of that).  I'd rather see more stuff like that.  Although Super Paper Mario was pretty good, it just didn't hold my interest enough.

Also I kind of like Mario Strikers Charged, enough to where I don't regret buying it.  I haven't really picked it up since the first week I bought it but it's because I never remember having it and I rarely play the Wii anyway.
