I have been getting obsessively into Hawkwind of late. Not just because they are so awesome (their newest album 'blood of the earth' is pretty interstellar) but because...

they have a fucking alien.

also...
I love getting stonned to this. Space is their palestine, followed by Assassins of Allah. Yeah.

by as of late i mean over the past two or so years, but really heavily since last summer.

Afrirampo, the best band in the past ten years (i cried when i found out they've stopped)
avant-guard rock at it's finest. They like spent several months with native tribes and then came back with this cool music. I love it.

lie that lcd soundsystem song was o but . . . derivative as hell GULP. what did i lie this year so far uh ariel pin's new album geneva jacuzzi new octopus project new rattatat didn't listen to the new arcade fire yet that song was o but sort of bland. don't feel obligated

Edit:Well I take that back I seen some good ones lately (because of cage of the elephant, skillet and few other.... at least I can say this is the best song a black man put out in a long time how about that to be more accurate. )

I didn't recognize King Crimson in that, Farren, but I don't know a lot of their songs either.  I wonder what it's like to be a dancer crawling around Kanye's feet while he's rapping and dancing over you.

A couple years ago I listened to this whole album with acid in my brain and it was a great psychedelic experience.
