Hello, I'm interested in making a website but lack programs such as Microsoft FrontPage.
Does anyone know where to get the best free pagemaker for websites?

Also, what's the best host for a small website that's starting off?

Please and thank you!

Nevermind, I found a page maker. All I need now is a good host.

Also, does anyone know the html code to change the icon in the top left corner of the browser?

The best free page maker for websites is either notepad or editplus. It would benefit you far more greatly to learn html (a very very simple task) and work on your sites that way instead of relying on a page maker to do it for you. Adobe produces the best pagemaker, Dreamweaver (formerly by Macromedia), but it is counter productive, typically, to use a pagebuilder if you do not understand what it is making in html because you will likely run into a great many problems you will not be able to fix. There is also a limit to what pagebuilders can do for you without a certain amount of knowledge of the process and you will eventually need to know what the actual code is to build advanced sites anyway. W3Schools is a great place to start learning html, and it will probably only take you 30 minutes to an hour to learn the basics.

I used Freewebs for a long time before I got to know rami, who eventually hosted me on Avalanche. I don't know how it is now, but it was a nice place to begin with back when I started making a site some 5 years ago.

That little icon is called a "favicon".

Quote from: Wikipedia
The Mozilla web browser added support for favicons in a way that conformed to web standards through the use of rel="icon" and letting web designers add favicons in any supported graphics format, e.g. <link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="/path/image.png"/>. Most web browsers have since added support for this feature and is generally used for all new content.

Well this is as good a place as any to ask. I'm wondering which provider you guys would recommend for hosting and domain registration. I'm not exactly sure what I'd like, but a small personal site would be nice so I can have a blog and upload pictures and whatever else peaks my interest.

I use DreamHost. Relatively cheap with lots of bandwidth and storage space. The problem with them is that their service is a bit flaky.
