OVERDRIVE!!!

The David and Goliath patches now have one extra feature.

120 Pictures!

To use, download the patch of your choice, then overwrite the previous one you have installed and then copy the rpg_rt.exe, and overwrite the one in your games project folder. After this you can use up to 120 pictures in rm2k3!

Link at bottom.

-Credits to Cherry for some technical information that made this possible-

Sup folks, I’ve been using this for a long time, (I made this a long time ago, and since I’ve already released some patches of mine, (like the exp patch) I thought I’d give this out as well)

It’s named “GOLIATH” because I use a very high resolution and rm2k3 just looked so…. small. So I took it upon myself to enlarge it. And this is the result.

REMEMBER YOU NEED TO BE ON 1280 x 960 RESOLUTION OR HIGHER

I’ve included a log of all the stuff I’ve changed in it to hopefully make it better.

ENJOY

DATABASE EDITS

HERO TAB

* Hero's name can be 30 characters long

* Experience curve can go between 2000 and -2000, which means you can make FF8 type of level up system, no problems!

* Skills, conditions and Attributes fields have been ENLARGED ;)

CLASSES TAB

* nothing changed

SKILLS TAB

* nothing changed

MONSTERS TAB

* Monsters names can be 20 characters long

* Max HP can now be 9,999,999 that’s about  TEN MILLION compared to the default 99,999 (one hundred thousand)

* Max MP, STR, DEF, INT can now be 9999 instead of 999

* Max AGILITY can now go upto 255, because higher values will make the game ATB bars go REALLY SLOW.

* Monsters can now drop 9,999,999 EXP and 999,999 Money

MONSTER GROUP TAB

* Trust me. You’ll LOVE this tab  :cool:

ATTRIBUTE TAB

* made so that attributes can go up to 2000 and -2000 ON ANY RANK. Yes, this means ANY RANK CAN NOW HEAL INSTEAD OF DAMAGE  :cool:

CONDITION TAB

* nothing changed

ANIMATION TAB

* enlarged “effect timing” box

* you can now make animations up to 9999 Frames long!!

COMMON EVENT TAB

* Trust me. You’ll LOVE this tab also ;)

EVERY THING ELSE

* EVERY ARRAY IN THE MAKER can now go up to 9999.

Yup. 9999 switches, 9999 variables, 9999 heroes whatever you want!

INTERFACE EDITS

* Play-Edit Enabled. You can edit the game while testing it!

* Message box patch done

* Money/EXP remove/add amount set to 999,999

* Event editor is now GYNORMOUS

* Item dropdown box in now loooooonger

* BGM TEMPO can now be really FAST or really SLOOOOW

And that’s it! Enjoy RPGMAKING!

Fuck dude, this is INSANE. You have saved me so much trouble, ESPECIALLY with the monster groups and animations tab.
I have a monitor that's large as well(1680x1050), so this really helps me.

One problem, I have lots of pages in the monster groups tab. There's no left or right arrow to scroll through the pages, so I can't get to certain pages. I used my arrow keys on the keyboard(which works), but it won't allow me to actually see what page I'm on. You think you could fix this?

Edit: By the way, if I make changes with this(like setting an attribute to -200 or something), if I open the project using the normal RPG2003, will it still be stable?

Nice patch.  A little big for my monitor though... maybe I'll use it when I have to edit my monster groups.  Lol

Yep :happy:

If you use this and made an "A" attribute -300, then later opened with a normal rm, EVEN IF YOU SAVE IT, it will keep the -300 when you open it later with this patch  :cool:

I'll look into the arrow tabs :)

I'm not sure about putting this on the front page considering this type of thing is technically illegal were you to use it with the legal version of RM2k3 and I don't want to promote illegal stuff on the front page of the blog y'see.

I'll ask around tho.

Good work on the patch tho. You should add screenshots, especially of the vague sections where you just say I'll love it.

This sounds really cool Aten. I have a big monitor too, so this might be the one that I am looking for.

if you don't mind though, can we have some screenshots?

EDIT: is it the same with the one you gave me some time ago?

Oh wow, that looks really good. If I still used RPG Maker 2003 I'd definitely get this.

This is pretty dang sweet I must say. Im stuck using RM2k3 since im too lazy to learn ruby...but I have always wanted there to be a way for enemies to actualy heal from certain attacks and you made that possible...only question is are when you test battle what wild are you talking about?

Haha, so this is that patch Ness linked me to ages ago. This was a massive help when it came to setting up single target enemy switch skills.

My max resolution is 1280x800, which means I can't use this :P Too bad really, it's a great improvement.

My resolution is 1280x800, so I probably won't be able to use this patch right?

If so, that kind of sucks - I mainly wanted to install it for the changed M. groups tab and the attributes. (I really don't care about the other changes to be honest since I don't need them).

Well, you CAN still use them even at low res, but the only downside MIGHT BE that the "ok, cancel, apply" button might go out of sight. I haven't tested tho. Try it out!

I just tested it, and yeah, the ok, cancel and apply buttons are way down below my screen, and there's no way to access them. So that means you can't make any changes in the database as you can only x out of it now.  :sweat:  :sad:

I really wish that you or someone else would be able to make this patch a little less GOLIATH and more like DAVID...  (Unfortunately I'm running Rm2k3 off a laptop so getting a larger monitor isn't an option. I suppose I can attach an extra monitor to it and then use a dual desktop - but that's just too much of a hassle. If someone could adopt this patch for a slightly smaller resolution I would love them.

Well, what you can do to save the database is, well, once you have done whatever, just head to the common events, highlight any code, then press

TAB then ENTER

"tab" will make the selector automatically go to the "OK" button then "enter", of course, "enters" it    :gwa:

work saved   :)

Like so:

Or you could go your display properties and choose a bigger resolution, since your's is only off by like, 100  :)

Yeah, that works. Thanks.

But still, there's no way to get at the event commands that are at the very bottom of the events command space. That's the one bad thing.

Also, because my memory is not working at the moment in that I can't recall what FF8's level up system was like (other than monsters levelling up with you) but what exactly does a negative experience curve mean?

In FF8, you had 0 EXP and as soon as you hit 1000, you leveled and it went back to 0, then 1000, then 0 etc etc

That was impossible to do in rm until now. I think the instruction to set that up in rm is in my other EXP Patch in the downloads topic.

Wow. Amazing! Really nice patch. My screen isn't big enough though. I'm tempted to use it anyway just for the FF8-like level up system. I HATE the way Rm2k3 does it.
