Hey. So I just bought a computer a day ago and proceeded to set it up. I threw in my windows installation CD. Loaded up fine and got the start of it. I realize at this point the keyboard I bought along with the PC isn't working. I don't have another keyboard that I could think of at the moment so the only option I can think of is shutting it down.

I turn it back on in the morning and now it gets stuck on Verifying DMI pool data. I'm guessing the two occurrences are related. Any ideas on what I can do?

Note: I have googled it, and I will probably go through all the steps I've found later tonight after work, but I'd rather see if anyone knows the exact problem and possible resolution.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know the exact nature of this problem, but this happens to me when I change the hardware around [like ][/like] and the bios doesn't pick it up right away. Although I can't say this is the problem for sure, resetting the bios might help you.

Just so everyone knows: Taking out my CMOS battery and then putting it back in helped get past the issue.

Thanks for the replys!

there's usually a jumper on the motherboard you can use instead of physically removing the battery btw
