I say we all stop worrying about that bull and party, humanity is going to be destroyed regardless, so I say live it up instead of giving yourself a heart attack trying to figure out something, avoid dying or being bought off, and convincing everyone, it's just not worth it.

humanity... its like a disease...

do you also feel like your soul is dark inside sometimes..?? i know i do..

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

I get a feeling I'm going to be an Anti-Capitalist Free-Technologist for many decades to come. crumply's response earlier goes to show how uninformed the public is about the true nature of technology and invention thanks to the corruption of a patent hording industry.

Will the media even bothering following this story? No. That would be outlandish and hundreds of paid lawyers would attack it. Still, it would be fantastic and the painful truth. Business is buying out the world and preventing humanity's progress. I want something done about it, and I feel like I'm the only one right now.

Bolvae made a pretty fundamental point when he noted that the gubmint doesn't really have the money to fund an all-out technology revolution; actually, the only people who would even bother are the oil monopolies. I'd imagine that when resources become scarce and it costs too much to find/process oil, the oil companies will switch immediately to other means to get energy, and be leading entrepreneurs in the field. Then your 'technological revolution' takes place. A new mindset overcomes the people, they elect officials to Congress and to the court system to protect developmental energy from any remaining oil war machines, and we progress.

I'll agree with you in that we've hit gridlock in terms of technological development, because of the big-oil-money lobbyists in Washington and corporate lawyers in the courts, so everything will sit at a standstill. Everything has to stagnate before we're impelled to do anything. I mean, look at the civil rights movement -- shoulda took place right as America was created, but the system was too powerful. A little patience went a long way, though. People became more and more pissed, and an upheaval of that system took place.

As long as we keep trying to push for developmental energy plans (gubmint-endorsed research would be a HELLUVA lot better than our dumbass plan to send more NASA dumbshits to the moon), we might be able to bring about said 'technological reformation' out sooner than you realize.

And think about the market for this stuff once it's out. I'd put some stock into that shit, wouldn't you?

I agreed with the whole post, which is a rare "Sir" moment. And now I realize that a lot more peoples' opinions make sense. Perhaps capitalizing off my foresight is an alright idea. Survival of the fittest being said rule, perhaps I could study alternative energy in college as well for a fall-back from language studies, capitalizing even more by being useful when oil grows more scarce and unpopular.

Also, I finally carry the opinion that W., who actually is an owner of quite a lot of oil, is profiting. The corporate conspiracy has always ran deeper than I thought. It was only a matter of time until I would finally be convinced.
