Rashomon is one of the few decent east Asian movies I've seen. With few exceptions Asian cinema sucks, especially the newer films lacking depths and focusing solely on 'style'.

I haven't really seen a whole lot of Asian films but let's see if I can find some favourites that haven't already been mentioned...

The Cup is one that comes to mind immediately.

So I guess I can recommend that. I also saw Shaw Brother's The Mighty Peking Man and it was awesome. So I suppose I could recommend that kind of stuff. You can't really forget Godzilla either can you!

I wouldn't exactly discourage people from SEEING Battle Royale II, since it's not UNWATCHABLE, but it's definitely not that good.  It's worth a watch, but not a second watch.

Just got done with watching The Eye Trilogy, seen the first already which I loved and the second was just as good maybe even better than the first.... the third however was a complete joke.

The Eye, the original, is one of my favorite horror movies ever. I heard the second one was pretty stupid, but I guess I'll check it out.

Basically, the way I see it is that the topic starter isn't after some Kurosawa epic (looking at the films he listed) but more of the 'Tartan Asian Extreme" bunch. So I don't see the harm in ImmortalDreamer listing those films.

I have some history with Princess Blade, I rented it from the library over 3 years ago, (the actual return stamp says 26th May 2005). I've never returned it because if I did, at £2.50 a week, I'd be coughing up some serious amounts of money. The film wasn't that great, but some of the action shots are pretty interesting, the bullet hitting a sword springs to mind, that was some decent CGI (at least I seem to remember it being that).

These are the ones i've liked enough to watch multible times.
