One thing I have always wanted to do is to go to a real good rap concert, recently I found out Ice Cube, Snoop and Bone Thugs are coming for some MTV show.

Well the first two I could give or take but I would like to see bone thugs as its the first time they have had their full line up in like 8 years with flesh bone finally out of jail. Only problem is, rap concerts often appear to be hit or miss, I don't want to go and see them lip syncing the words and only singing the hook (seems to happen at alot of hiphop concerts) also probably the second problem is I am a non gangsta white person, I will be going with one other friend but I know there are some really big maoris around and it might be a) very scary b) awkward as fuck for me. Honestly, I've been to several clubs where people have tried to fight me for similar reasons!

I love hiphop and I will know all the words but I don't dress or act like a wigger in the slightest and I would prefer not to do die. Its my 21st comin up and I can probably get a ticket to this as a present.

So tell me two things, A) Do you think I will die if I go B) What has your experience been with rap concerts?

You obviously don't know what it is like! (im going with a black person and i know a few other black people going but i fear the scary GANGSTAZ who will be there)

What rap concerts have people gone to? I've seen so many live performances that are just lip syncing ugh

i saw dead prez before and that was great, i also saw public enemy, blue scholars, wu tang(minus dirt dogg RIP), Nas and kanye west

they were all good except kanye, he never finished a single song, he'd stop and talk about stuff he's doing with other artists, play some parts of his favorite "joints", and he changed his clothes like 4 times no shit

I had the impression that the maori in NZ were kinda in the same situation as the aborigines in Australia. racism is like a joke over there, it's not really a serious subject at all compared to america

their second album is a lil better IMO and the MC isn't remarkable but they're a lot of fun and he spits some positive rhymes so i like them

i live in the NW USA, there was quite a bit of white people there. They seem to be more about their politics than yellin' about crackers so it wasn't that awkward.

I don't really think racism is bad or anything here but its like if I went to a predominantly black gangsta club I would kind of be drawing attention to myself and asking for it. I don't know how to explain it perfectly but it is not a racist thing on my behalf, its just facts of life! I still might go though, I haven't quite decided. I don't know how good BTNH will be live.
