They're both among the saddest I've read. If it wasn't for the money (milking your past works by selling CDs/Prints/Folios on top of whatever it is in the booth you are working)... I don't see how anyone would want to go con chasing. From what I hear it gets very tiring... and you grow to loathe the people who attend them. I am actually dreading the day I am asked to do this myself.

well I hear a lot of indie guys love it as they get publicity, feedback, etc and get to chat with fans, but in big league stuff it's really damaging for artists/whatever as they end up spending too much time discussing why powergirl has to be drawn with big tits, and less time drawing them puppies.

I tell ya man, stick with the schooling for that shit, otherwise 4 years of college will be horribly wasted. Yeah, my dad wanted to help people too. I plan on opening a bar with a stage and have local bands/artists play there. Atleast thats what I want to do when I get out of the Merchant Marines.

First I've got to get a house though, then I'm gonna start saving up so I can rent a place/lot and build my dream bar.

EDIT: I think I need to clarify, there aren't any really good bars around my town. The half-assed decent ones are like 30 minutes away and they still suck pretty bad. So I figure if I can open up a nice place, with some decent entertainment I'll be making pretty good money. It would also be a cool place to play if I ever really get into making my own music.

Once upon a time I wanted to be an electrical engineer, now that I am becoming an electrical engineer I wish I'd studied something like art of creative writing, I wish I'd never left my girlfriend and I wish I'd worked harder last year.

As long as my job has something to do with computers I'll be fine.  I'm taking a Network Administrator course at college but it also covers other fields.  I can sit in front of a computer or work with computers for any amount of time and I don't find it boring so I figure I might as well do that.  Also, I've been using computers since 1992 so that probably helps as well.

I'll probably keep writing in my spare time and maybe eventually get something published, privately or otherwise, but that's something for down the road.

I study politics and international relations.
And I do music and paint.
