To any of you beta people how are the enemies in this?
They've said very little about them and I just wanna know how much freedom you have in that area.

There is no "enemies" to say. There is hazards such as spikes and water, jumping into them basically causes you to go back to the last checkpoiny you passed.
Though I say there is no enemies some of the hazards are disguised as enemies. One is a ghost that moves up and down (but it actually hooked onto a chain that is attatched to a pully system to make it move up and down).
I haven't played around with it much, but you can basically designate any object you make as a hazard, but there is no enemies with AIs or such, if you want your hazard to move then you have to make some sort of contraption to make it move.

If there was any enemies, they'd probably have the some very basic commands like walk back and forth, attack on sight, timed attacks and so on. But i'd only see enemies happening with a Mod but i'll have fun just having a really big obstacle course.

I am curious about how big we can actually make the level.
A tool is a tool regardless. I mean if you suck, you suck, and not even the most perfect tool could save you. And if your damn good then even with the worst tool ever conceived you could chug out some high quality shit.

You technically can make "enemies" do things like that, but you yourself have to figure out a way of making that happen. You can give things triggers such as when something gets close to it, or something is pushed/moved and so on, but it is up to you to figure out how to make those triggers translate into an actual "attack" from an "enemy". (triggering some sort of motor to move once you get close to it, that motor might cause a monster to swing it's arms, which are hazards for example).

Basically, go and play Phun
http://www.phunland.com/wiki/Home
That is what the level editor is like, only it has more stuff. If you cannot use Phun to make an enemy that walks back and forwards then you'd struggle just as much in LBP.

Also, I haven't tried pushing levels to their limits yet, but from what I have seen they can be absolutley massive. I doubt you will ever reach the limits on a level size (I think they are technically unlimited in size, but you can only put so much into a level but you can put in a lot).

To hear your reviews so far, droans my fears. :) I was so afraid they'd use the Six-Axis in a bad way, or something gay. If it's a pleasure to play--my dreams are coming true (in a month).

Can you say Little Big Drinking Party?

Yeah I get what you mean. I just watched a LittleBigPlanet special on X-Play and the guy from Media Molecule made a spider boss where you were a flying Sackboy who had to pull all its legs off to defeat it. Basically it was a bunch of blocks and circle-ish parts made to look like a spider hanging on a string (web) and it's mouth was an electrical hazard. I actually like this alot more than just having preset enemies as it means people who choose to create them will have to be creative in the way they go about it. This works perfectly with the types of levels I want to create. I want to focus more on complex puzzles and maybe have 1 or 2 "enemies" at certain points that have to be simply avoided or be defeated by ways that use your brain.

Tell you the truth though when I get this I'm just gonna have fun with it and not limit myself at all so who knows how my levels could turn out (Breast Physics Paradise: Navigate the level by bouncing on the soft breasts and swinging across the saggy breasts but watch out for the rolling firm breasts of doom and the pointy tips of the A-cups!).

What is your PSN. I want to download this level.
You should make the boundaries of the level be the flat chested desert of no satisfaction.

Don't have one since I haven't had a reason to use it yet (all my multiplayer games are for 360) but it'll probably be Leric (or if that's taken Leric followed by numbers) so I'll just post it in the "I'm sure to be coming if it isn't already here" GW PSN list after I get LBP.

did...did he create basically a GIANT ABACUS.

man on the one hand that's cool but on the other there's an entire field of neurosurgery out there and he wasted his time figuring out THIS SHIT.

I'm finding it hard to think of an example of wasting your time that's WORSE than this.

This looks like a game that would be gimmicky fun for a few hours/days, then would quickly wear off and get boring.

Nah. On one hand it is basically an excellent platform game with a ton of well designed levels and most likely a whole bunch more to download shortly after the game is released (user made content).
Were the Mario games for example "gimmicky fun for a few hours/days", then got quickly boring? If not then the same applies to this game, because despite it having a level editor that can do cool stuff it is still a platform game. And the gameplay is pretty excellent and fun (especially multiplayer), I would say it is better than any Mario game I have played.

On the other hand, yeah, the level editor could be gimmicky and get boring quickly. Especially if you are like me and not all that creative :[
