Shooting started about 11:00 local time. According to police several people have died. Shooter has been insured and it is likely, that he shot himself at head. Victims of the shooting are evacuated to several hospitals around the Kauhajoki. When the shooting started, there were about 200 students inside the school. Shooter set up a fire at school too. According to Helsingin Sanomat, shooter is 20 years old, but according to information in Youtube he is 22.

(CNN) -- A man suspected of shooting dead nine of his fellow students at a school in Finland Tuesday was interviewed by police a day earlier over violent videos posted on YouTube it was reported.

Finland's MTV-3 said that the man was released after questioning Monday.

Four videos were posted on YouTube by a 22-year-old man from the town of Kauhajoki in southern Finland, showing a man -- possibly himself -- firing a pistol at a shooting range.

YouTube took the videos down within hours of the shooting.

Police told CNN that they are investigating whether the man is the same person who opened fire at the college, before turning the gun on himself.

Officials at the Tempere University Hospital in Finland confirmed that the man died at around 4:50 p.m. local time from a gunshot wound to the head. He had no family with him at the hospital. The Medical Director would not confirm his identity.

Several other people were wounded in Tuesday's attack, but officials could not immediately say how many. Video Watch more about the YouTube videos »

"We can't tell you exactly how many people are in bad condition," the mayor of the town, Antti Rantakokko, said. "We don't have the numbers yet."

According to national broadcaster YLE, a 22-year-old student at the technical college walked into a classroom full of students who were taking a test, and opened fire about 11 a.m. local time. Video Watch more about the casualties »

Jukka Forsberg, a maintenance worker at the school, said the man was wearing a ski mask and walked into the building with a large bag, the agency said. About 150 students were on campus at the time.

Smoke billowed from a building on campus but officials could not immediately say what caused the fire. Three hours after the shooting, firefighters were still trying to bring a blaze under control, fire official Olle Peauttonen told CNN.

Tapio Varmola, who was visiting the school at the time, told CNN he was in a building about two blocks away when the shootings occurred.

"I did not hear anything," he said. "We did not know what happened. It became clear later."

After the shootings, he said, he heard students shouting. Police came about 10 minutes after they were called, Varmola said.

"It took two hours to get this situation ended," he said.

The school taught late teens and young adults, Jarkko Sipila of MTV 3 told CNN. "It's more or less like an agricultural or professional school where people teach how to make food or how to cook in big kitchen, in industrial kitchens," he said.

Kauhajoki, with a population of about 15,000, is about 290km (180 miles) from the capital, Helsinki.

The incident comes almost a year after another school shooting left nine people, including the gunman, dead in the Finnish town of Tuusala.

Before that shooting, the gunman, 18-year-old student Pekka-Eric Auvinen, posted a video on YouTube titled "Jokela High School Massacre 11/7/2007" -- identifying the date and location of the attack.

"All these memories are being brought back and people are asking the question, 'Why again'?" Sipila said.

Finland enjoys a strong tradition of hunting and has a high proportion of gun ownership, with 2 million firearms owned in a nation of 5 million people.

i don't know what to think.

He died in hospital. Didn't that happen in the last Finnish shooting?

This is always shit, there's not really any other way of comprehending this kind of thing. Sympathies to the families etc.

schools should really start to have a metal detector or something at the entrance, this is getting repetitive and ridiculous.

Apparently pretty much everything was exactly like in the last incident, from youtube videos to the gun calibers to the plans to set the school on fire, etc.

Like a sick recreation.

Something is terribly wrong with this world.

My mother's from Finland and grew up near that town, so these news are pretty shocking to my family.

It's weird... A year ago, everyone here in Sweden was like "Oh yeah shit like that only happens in the US." Turns out we were wrong.
Is it our duty to die for governments and for gods?
Is it our privilege to slave for market and for industry?
Is it our right to follow laws, set to scare and to oppress?
Is it a gift to stay in line and will it take away the blame?

I don't understand why people do this, and I guess I never will. People are crazy I guess.

My thoughts are with the victim's families.

It's weird there's been two in Finland in the past year. Weird and really shit.

They should probably start taking some precautions to help prevent this in future. Or at least take the guys gun license away if he posts threats on YouTube about killing people.

Yeah, and apparently he also had the same "human hate" philosophy thing and he had been planning this since 2002. It's scary to think that we might have more people like this around here, just waiting for the right moment.

This sucks and is terrible. I think that if the police would've investigated the guy a bit more on the Internet, they could've found out that he might be a real risk, but instead they let him keep his gun and next day we get this shit. I'm not really blaming the police because the guy apparently seemed like a normal guy, and it's really hard to even try to predict something terrible like this.

Anyway it's insane how fast the information about the incident spread on the net. Like the shooting started around 11am, and people knew who the shooter was like 10-15 mins from that on IRC (IRCnet anyway, where various finnish channels exist). I heard that somehow the name of the police who was questioning the guy on monday also leaked out and spread on IRC. Insane and scary...

I think countries need to stop copying the bad trends of other countries and start going for the good ones...
This goes for Chile, too... We copy everything that's wrong with the rest of the world.

I just found out that apparently the police has no access to youtube or irc-galleria (a big finnish community, where both of the shooters had posted their plans before doing them).

A huge number of US schools have metal detectors and police officers at the entrance each day to search the students. Even in elementary schools.
