For the first time in something like two months I was finally able to sit down and watch a movie, from start to end, without having to do something else while the movie was playing. I watched
Carriers with the new Captain Kirk, one of the guys frow Law and Order: SVU and other people and I have to admit that I really enjoyed it. I picked it up based on the cover alone, so I was expecting horror. I'm not disappointed, but this isn't a horror film at all. In fact, I'm not entirely sure how to classify this movie. Basically, it's the story of two brothers and their clingers on who are trying to get to some beach they remember from childhood, set against the backdrop of the world ended by some virus that isn't really talked about. You see a kid in the late stages of it, and you get to see a few people in the early stages, but you don't learn more than is absolutely necessary.
If you like a thinking man's movie, or you're into character studies, I do recommend this movie.
I've also rented Farcry, Uwe Boll's latest adventure into video game destruction. . . should be interesting.
