if you liked the life aquatic you can just pick something else by wes anderson, most of his movies have billy in a prominent role.

Which Dawn of the dead? the first one or the remake? I've seen both. the original is OK. but it hasn't aged well and I honestly liked the remake.

punch drunk love was kind of ok. i liked adam sandler's character (i like that guy despite all the atrocities he's starred in) but the movie itself wasn't really spectacular

whatever works owned. woody allen owns, larry david owns. it might not have reached its full potential of ownage but it was pretty good regardless.

Groundhog Day.  Pretty neat concept, but cheesy ending.  Should Bill Murray have to spend every waking minute helping people out to achieve fulfillment?  I guess so.  Somebody please tell me another worthwhile Bill Murray movie that isn't Ghostbusters or The Life Aquatic.

Stripes.

And while he's not the star, he's really amazingly despicable in Kingpin.

Anyway, I watched Teenagers from Outer Space over the weekend.  It's a really really bad sci-fi B-movie that was in the dollar bin at Walmart (and the DVD was a double feature to be extra cheap).  For $.50 it was pretty entertaining in a hanging out with friends and riffing on it capacity.

The remake. It had some great ideas, but I was expecting it to be better.

I saw Book of Eli today and was pleasantly surprised.  I went in knowing only that it contained Denzel Washington.  I cringed when it went slow-mo with the opening cat-hunting scene, and I was still pretty skeptical when I realized it was post-apocalyptic.  It turned out really good, though.  Everything that took place at the old couple's house was amazing.    The Carnegie character was a pretty cheesy villain (though his gradual downfall was cool), and I kind of cringed at the ending where .  I really hope that isn't insinuating a lame-ass sequel.

Overall, I'd say this movie is a credit to post-apocalyptic media.

I don't have my hopes up but I want to see it. some cool design initially went into it but I dunno how well this was incorporated into the movie

I watched Avatar yesterday. It was actually better than I expected, but the 3D gave me a really bad headache.

PSH... The first one seemed like it DRAGGED ON.

Plus, fast zombies are scarier and more awesome than slow zombies.

Mainly because slow zombies aren't scary at all :P. and I watch zombie movies for the same reason I watch any other horror movie, to be terrified.

in any case "28 Days later" trumps both of them... or at least the first half of it does.

I fell asleep through the second half of 28 days later. Now 28 weeks later on the other hand, allowed me to watch it entirely without even yawning.

Speaking of apocalyptic movies. Watched "Carriers". THESE CARROTS WERE RUNNING FROM THE COPS. ONLY I THINK THE CARROTS WERE PEOPLE AND THE COPS WERE A GLOBAL PANDEMIC.

Anyway, it was about a group of 4 people trying to run from a rash and cough inducing disease that is pretty much killing everyone on the planet.

I would say it was pretty good. however the characters had what I like to call "Horror Movie Character Syndrome" or HMCS.

Symptoms include:
-Taking completely unnecessary risks in situations where that gets you killed.
-Showing little forethought into what they are doing.
