notorious 7/10

i had tears in the end.

Hey man, fucking notorious man.

Notorious was a big fucking waste of money, the only redeeming factor of it was the music!

Jesus man, the pacing was way way off, none of the scenes seemed to flow or tie together. Characters were all over the place and no connection was fully established. Biggie hit women, we got that, but he was also a good father right? Sure, he told his girl "don't let no one call you a bitch" in a 2 minute scene. Half the movie rides of the tight relationship between Wallace and Shakur, but the film does an awful job of telling us how great of friends they were besides YEAH WE TALKED INTO A VIDEO CAMERA TOGETHER. That alone pretty much ruins the entire second half. The guy who goes to jail for Bigs come off as JUST A GUY, and when he comes back later he shares ONE 2 MINUTE SCENE WITH BIG TELLING HIM HOW GR8 HE IS.

ALL THE CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS ARE FUCKED UP

FUCKED UP PACING FUCKED UP CONVERSATIONS FUCKED UP TUPAC

They focus all this shit on his relationship with women, which also affects all the other shit in his life. Seriously they skipped half of his life, including his second arrest, that might have fit if they didn't put in so much shit about him and Lil' Kim fucking.

Oh, and don't even get me started about when they made fun of the Asian guy at the autograph signing.

I really wanted to like the movie too.

EDIT:
I just saw Once Upon a Time in the West. Fantastic movie. I find Harmonica more bad ass than Blondie. I love how Sergio Leone can focus the viewer on a single shot for 5 minutes while constantly building up tension... Then releasing it like a rubber band.

EDIT 2:
Man the fucking ending of Notorious with Violetta Wallace reading that narration, looking out the window out at the world...

Fucking awful, all I saw was a bunch of hooligans jumping on cars with boom boxes. Seriously, it was just awful.

STANDARD SLASHER pretty much it was worse than that 3d valentine movie imo it sucked hard, was really bland. And didn't make me laugh a single time it sucked.

Everyone keeps talking about Adaptation. I suppose I should check it out.

adaptation is a movie about making a movie. it is not a good movie.

I thought it was fine until the end, and then it was just WAY too out there.

But I didn't really find it that funny ever!

the only joke i remember is when he's at that writers conference and the dude says something about how narration in a movie is a cheap way of showing how your characters are feeling and he stops narrating.

it is not a good movie, it is gimmicky and lame

on a different note i just watched daft punk's electroma and it was fairly sad, which i wasn't expecting at all. also the music choice and the quality made it seem quite old. i didn't understand some of the music choices at all. i found the movie through jackson c frank's wiki page. his song is the only memorable one in the movie and it is so perfect.

it also kinda drags on in some scenes but it's only an hour long

I groaned hardcore at the part when he makes a joke about how bad it is to use cheesy music at the end (i think maybe he actually made the joke earlier in the movie than when this part happened i can't remember either way it was made) and then the cheesy music plays at the very end.

there isn't really jokes in the movie, some of the characters are really outragious and comical imo. Also some scenes that genuinely shocking tether on the edge of comedy becuase they're so far twisted. I don't know why you would dislike the movie, I thought it was really funny and interesting, especially how the book Kaufman is adapting is a real book and the screenplay is credited as work from existing material.

i watched it years ago and i only saw it once, i don't remember that scene, but i do remember it was ironic on a family guy level where it's very "television shows make references like these for easy ratings" *gets the meta laugh* *also gets easy ratings*
