i watched a documentary called NORTH KOREA: A DAY IN THE LIFE and it was really well done and gave a very good idea of what it's actually like over there in the city despite the fact that everyone in it was probably putting on a show and the creator having to comply with the government in omitting stuff.

If something is pretty cool, it's 9/10? Shouldn't it be in the realms of mind blowing and innovative to be a 9, realistically...?

No, they are all terrible.

The one calle Mao's Bloody Revolution has a lot of good footage though.

And flowerpower, no it was a belgian company that made the film.

Been watching Disney movies on youtube.

Hunchback of Notre Dame was pretty creepy. The main villain had a perverse lust for the main female, the protagonist was hungry for the main female's love; clearly insane because he talked to gargoyles that no one else could. And it ended pretty good with the handsom hero man getting the girl, and the hunchback merely accepted by Paris.
Hunchback of Notre Dame II ruined everything, including any good opinion I had for the first film.
Brother Bear had great animation, though the story was pretty lacking. Even for Disney. I guess it's based on a really simple tale, so there was nothing left to say... but I mean, they stretched Beauty and the Beast into a full story. However, the ending was a little different than I anticipated/expected from a Disney flick...though at the same time, it fulfilled my expectations...? Also, the Canadian Moose were too Canadian, eh.

Watchmen

6.5/10

It was beautiful, but unmemorable. The dialouge was cheesy and the characters were poorly developed. The movie was very long, yet very little (of interest) happened.

Saw Chun-Li yesterday.  Don't get me wrong, it was one of the worst movies I've seen, but as an experience it was fantastic.  Me and my friend were the only ones there, so it meant that when things were completely stupid we could say "REALLY?  REALLY?  NO." without any issues.  Somehow the thing that bothered me most about the movie (I guess because everything else about it was destined to be awful so it didn't really bother me) was ESPERANTO SECURITY.  Esperanto????  Did they just pick that word at random because they thought it sounded cool because I couldn't think of any other reason to call it that.  My friend's review of the movie was this:  "On a scale from one to Chun-Li, this was a two."

I only went to see it because I knew me and my buddy would have a good time and I did so no regrets here.

I watched the English Patient again the other night. It's probably one of my favourite romance/epic films and it has a lot of rewatchability for me for some reason. Also, the music is outstanding!

yeah I heard that book is quite a lot different in that it hasn't got a straight narrative and its more of a long poem in written in pros or something like that. I'll probably pick it up sometime

Tell No One was the last film I watched. It's a pretty good thriller, but gets a bit desperate in the middle section but the film's last segment was pretty satisfying. Basically it's about a guy who is trying to clear his name when two murders he knows nothing about are linked to him.

i saw twilight last night. it wasn't as horrible as i expected it to be in terms of acting etc (it still wasn't great, the characterisation was on a firefly level of HERE I AM! HERE'S WHAT I DO! which it would be hard to pull off as an excellent actor let alone a kid) but the whole STORY and stuff was really really gross.

no country for old men

alot of people hated the ending but fuck em.
Django only had one finger, its as big as four cats, and hes got a retractable leg so he can leap up at you better and you know what?He lights up at night, and hes got four ears. Two of them are for listening and the other two are kind of back-up ears, and his claws are as big as cups and for some reason hes got a tremendous fear of stamps and Mrs Doyle was tellin me that hes got magnets on his tail so if youre made out of metal he can attach himself to you,and instead of a mouth its got four arses

I'm sure the uncut DVD will have longer segments with all the side characters

and if I'm hearing things right they're including animated(?) Tales of the Black Freighter bits, with the option to have it all interleaved into the movie at the proper points. if this is old news, hey, but I was pretty excited when I heard it so there. it wouldn't fit quite as well without the sort of nautical theme the original ending had, but hey.

all told, it's going to be an incredibly long watch if they include all the stuff they should (I particularly missed the Hollis Mason thing and Rorschach's Kitty Genovese story and the way that fit in with the original grouping of secondary characters right before the end,) but it's probably that or make it into a miniseries (which probably would have been much better in terms of content and pacing but wouldn't have been nearly as profitable.)

it just so happens that the last movie I watched was watchmen so just read this post from the top again and we'll call it done.

At some point in the future, Warner Bros plans to release an "ultimate edition" of the film that will splice Tales and Hood in, which means you will have one heck of a marathon. Says Zack Snyder himself, "The überfans of this property are going to go crazy for that."

aww yeah

The Straight Story.  It was really good!  Probably the best movie about old people that I can think of.
