I saw Doubt, I thought it was great!

This is a really good movie IMO. It takes no sides, and in the end, everyone wins.
Despite that, and myself being wholly intolerant of christians in general, I was very pleased. I have not seen or read the play, and thus I don't know what was said or implied in that, but the actors in this movie do so much with their expressions and their wording of sentences, that the dialogue is seriously shortened, but the ideas are conveyed possibly better than would be! If you are at least unaware of this movie I would suggest looking it up if not going to see it. I won't say what it's about, just in case, but I was very impressed by the accuracy in how the Catholic Church's method of dealing with itself was portrayed.

For the most part, the movie focuses on the back and forth of Meryl Streep's and Phillip Seymour Hoffman's characters, however, Sister James appears as the protagonist, unsure whether or not to believe Sister Aloisius (Streep) or Father Flynn (Hoffman). In the end,

That's how I interpreted the movie, but I did go with a diverse group of people, and while some of my friends were unsure of the outcome, a few of my Christian friends were dead set on believing the opposite.

Burn After Reading - Dunno what to make of this movie, I liked it cause I just couldnt guess what was gonna happen next.. it was always so random throughout the movie and you have no idea where its trying to lead you. I found it more entertaining than funny which isnt a bad thing.

I watched this yesterday and the only thing I could think of was how absolutely irritating Brad Pitt's character was. It's not that he's playing against his usual character type (which he technically is), it's just that the character itself is grating to my senses.

Anyway, Burn After Reading is supposed to be a comedy, coming from the brainchilds of Fargo, the Coen Brothers. John Malkovich stars as a boozing CIA dude who quits his job rather than get demoted, and then decides to write a memoir. Tilda Swinton is his wife who happens to be banging George Clooney, who starts dating Frances McDormand who is obsessed with getting plastic surgery. Brad Pitt is a personal trainer with a bad dye job and the movie revolves around a data disc found on the floor of the gym that Brad and Frances work at. Personally, I didn't find it very funny at all, save for when Brad Pitt's character got punched in the nose. I put it in expecting a comedy and I didn't get to laugh, so I was rather disappointed with the whole experience.

The Island was on ShowCase the other night.

As much as I reel at the thought of having to sit through most Michael Bay films, this is probably the best example of what his style of filmmaking is capable of producing. The dialogue is often cringeworthy, and the best lines are in fact overused, consisting of great flares of eloquence such as "RUN!" or "GO!" or "HANG ON!". Despite this, the film held my attention with its fast-paced action and interesting environments, and some impressive photography.

7 Pounds.

I enjoyed it, but looking it up on rottentomatoes it has a really terrible rating and I'm not sure why.

OK, so I rented Resident Evil: Degeneration. Wow. . .

I really do appreciate the effort put into a movie like this but, unfortunately, it falls into RE's recently perpetuating cycle of 'cheesy but entertaining.' The English voice acting is terrible, a lot of the people move as if they've got sticks shoved up sensitive areas and parts of the movie that were supposed to be scary just turned out to be laughably goofy. Example:

It is a visually interesting movie. The dust particles in the air are a nice touch. I like the sound effects and the music is really good. There was clearly a lot of thought put into the details of the movie and it did pay off. If you're a fan of the games then I would definitely check this out. Even if you're not, it's presented clearly enough that newcomers to the series will understand most of what's going on. It is an enjoyable movie, but not the best of its genre by far.

Haha, I actually thought this was the funniest films I'd seen all year. There was scene where I literally belly laughed in the theatre The movie's structure reminded me a lot of Fargo, how it all stemmed from one stupid mistake. Actually that seems to be the theme in a lot of coen brothers films.

Anyway, watched The Elephant Man. I've seen it before, but I think I took it in more this time round..

My daughter has been watching Wall-E basically nonstop since she got it for Christmas, but only now have I actually sat down and watched it from beginning to end. Wall-E is the story of a lonely robot who spends his days on 29th century Earth acting as a loveable trash compactor. He is sucked into a story involving a plant in a boot, a cute robot love interest and an autopilot wheel whose is surprisingly well-voiced considering that it was provided by a computer.

Usually, I grind my teeth at what Autumn loves watching, so I was rather pleased when Wall-E turned out to be very cute and enjoyable. The Star Wars sound guy Ben Burtt did a wonderful job filling Wall-E with amazing sounds; the robots actually sounded emotional when the time called for it. There is a certain tongue-in-cheek aspect of the whole thing that made me giggle. This is also Pixar's first movie to feature real life actors on screen and, as odd as it sounds, the concept actually worked. Cute, enjoyable entertainment for all. Even if you don't have kids, this one is worth a rental. If you have the capability, I recommend Blu-Ray over DVD; on an HDTV the difference in picture quality is quite noticeable.

Watched Tideland with a friend. I promised him that it isn't as weird as other movies
I usually watched. He disagreed and I guess he had a point.
I like it cause you've got this big rock of discomfort in your stomach through the whole movie.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button: I personally thought this film had a heart of gold, brilliant acting from Pitt and some (naturally!) amazing direction by Fincher. The sense of time was probably one of the most enjoyable and affecting aspects of the film, as it truly felt like things were changing but in their hearts, everyone's still who they were. For those who don't know, it's based on a story about a baby who is born old (has signs of aging), but as the kid grows up and gets older, his body begins to get younger. A moving film about life, death and what the human form truly is.
