I really want to see Taken, if only for Liam Neeson.
ANYWAY. Today I went to see Kate Hudson versus Anne Hathaway AKA Bride Wars and I have to say. . . watching Keanu Reeves have an alien business meeting in McDonalds was more interesting than seeing these two chicks behave like whiny toddlers. I go to movies to get away from the real world, folks.
Hudson is Liv, a ridiculously hot lawyer chick whose best friend is Emma, played by the adorably mousey Hathaway. The two of them have a dream to get married in the Plaza Hotel in NYC in June and things get competitive and complicated when both brides find their weddings booked on the same day at the same place. In the end, of course, everything works out and this is what I have the most gripe about. They spend most of the movie doing stupid and sometimes horrible things to one another and in the end they hug, kiss and make up. Seriously, if my best friend ever thought of pulling any of the stunts seen in the film I'd bitch-slap her into next week. It's a date movie and a chick flick which I understood going in so I suppose I shouldn't complain so much about everything working out in the end but still. . . the humor didn't make me laugh and the female characters all seemed like stuck-up selfish bitches. All in all, I didn't enjoy it.
