Ammores Porres 8/10, I found the second segment boring in contrast to the first segment, the third segment dragged on to long. 21 grams is still my number 1 out of the thrilogy, Babel takes the second spot.

Being John Malkovich ,... still not sure what to think of it... loved it, didnt get me laughing though. 7/10?

Slumdog Millionaire for me.
The interesting narrative structure held my attention, with some pretty good performances from the child actors. It was at times humourous and had scenes of engaging drama. My only real problem with it is that the film felt like it would have been better suited with a darker overtone and ending (just my opinion).

The Nines - I liked it in a Donnie Darko kind of way. It has a refreshing mix of genres in it.

for an overly simplified explanation just think of a mobius strip

it's not really Lynch's best but I thought it was cool

Valkyrie: It fealt lacking and short but it had great suspense. 3/5. Taken: Not too original but has solid action and a decent if predictable plot. 4/5.

I was really hoping you would comment. I'm looking into seeing Blue Velvet. I heard it was his best, but I wonder if it is as much a brainfuck as Mullholland Dr./Lost Highway was.

I like the way Lynch takes something as simple as spousal murder and turns it into a fucking horrid nightmare, however with Lost highway I had the feeling he was just adding random scenes which didn't move the plot forward at all.

Also: What happend to Pete, that night in his front lawn, with Sheila screaming and his parents running up to him

Blue Velvet's probably the best thing he's ever done, it's like a movie Lynch decided to actually plan out and write while most of his other stuff is more like "random scenes makes it surreal!!"

another recommendation: I think Inland Empire is the greatest collection of random scenes he's put together. It's kind of like watching the end of Mullholland Dr but for three hours. I'd recommend it, but idk, i could see that movie boring some people to death if you appreciate logical sequence. Plus the DVD has a bunch of great extra behind the scene footage of David Lynch being goofy and making the movie, which is defiantly worth watching if you're a Lynch fan.

Why would you watch it if you don't like flashy action? :)

Well, I guess it's good for pedos too, Dakota Fanning was showing off her legs in every scene.

inland empire made me ill. there's something about it, it's really gross to look at. i went on a rant about it a while ago in this topic when i got the title confused with eastern promises

just watched gran torino, i'd have to say it misses. a lot of the dialogue seemed really unnatural and it seemed fairly predictable. also the racism wasn't as outrageous as people made it out to be!

jesus man 9/10 do you have no standards at all. please, enlighten me as to what could have made it a 10/10. i want to know.

slumdog; i liked this. pretty fair depiction of a slumdog life in india. thought it was going to go the way of the kite runner and just pile on the terrible things but no, it did not. what bugged me the most was at the end when it succumbed to it's romance arch side and phone rings ITS HER........ SHE HAS THE PHONE

believable... but annoying. anyway, a solid movie to be sure, enjoyed it.

jesus this post took 2 edits I CAN NOT TUPE

i was about to watch aliens 2 but one glance at the TWO AND A HALF HOUR RUNNING TIME helped change my mind. i am not sitting through a two and a half hour movie unless it was filmed in my backyard or includes batman.

You know what I was going to make a sarcastic post about how he just said what everyone was already thinking about dakota, but I started thinking about the series taken and just couldn't bring myself to do it.
