I was going to start a blog for fun where I write recaps of the really awful movies I frequently catch on HBO/Showtime but I never got around to it because I am an immensely lazy piece of shit.  But I really watch a lot of astoundingly bad movies for some reason.  And not necessarily just so-bad-they're-good movies with cult followings like Plan 9 or The Room - the first movie I was going to do was Bratz: The Movie which I watched one day while skipping class a few years ago.  I guess what I'm trying to say with this post is that I am a bad person who doesn't deserve happiness.

Highlights of Bratz: The Movie included:
- The hispanic girl finding a mariachi band in her kitchen
- Academy Award Winning Actor Jon Voight as Principal Whatever
- Up and coming R&B/Hip-Hop Megastar and Social Media Paragon and Also Son of Tom Hanks CHET HAZE
- "You know what's the best part about having divorced parents?  Twice the money for SHOPPING!"
- Definitely some more racist shit that I can't remember

It's pretty incredible but it really takes a special kind of self-loathing to watch it.

More importantly though has anybody else seen the best movie of all time YOU GOT SERVED?  I've seen it at least three or four times and sometimes I think it would be cool to walk in front of a speeding bus.

overdrawn at the memory bank is my favorite bad movie. i'm sure a large part of this is the fact that i grew up watching cheap 80s public television, and this movie has that odd aesthetic, but i'm not sure how much of that is me. i genuinely love the awful special effects, some of the actors are insanely good (raul julia and maury chaykin are somehow in this) but just don't give a shit, and the premise is in some general vicinity of being interesting, with the fact that it's just badly done and often unintelligible making it totally surreal. i mean, two of the main characters of this movie is a guy doing a deranged peter lorre impersonation, and raul julia doing a totally awful puerto rican humphrey bogart.

i think i am constantly looking for an opportunity to gush about this movie. my apologies.

hell yea

I think I wanted to make a game of this at one point

but yeah like an RPG with public television aesthetics would be amazing and boards of canada-type music etc.

I watched Highlander 2: The Quickening the other day. It was so nonsensical and over the top that I actually enjoyed it. Probably more than the first one. I find it crazy that so many people got so pissed off at this movie instead of being entertained by how hilariously bad it is. Like yeah, it completely ruins the first one's mythology, it's really stupid and doesn't make any sense, but the first one was also stupid and didn't make any sense.

Watched Upside Down, a random movie I found leaked online. The CG was nice with some beautiful looking shots but the generic love story and ridiculous ending spoiled it for me. I also spent most of the movie thinking about the physics involved and how nothing actually made sense. I could only recommend this movie if your just interested in something pretty to look at.

The last movie I watched was Paranorman.

For some reason I was not expecting much but the movie surprised me with how good it was.

Not bad guess it gives me some insight on how chef must feel as he makes his game.

I saw the hobbit and I really have no idea whether it was good or not because I was forced to see it in 3D and for some reason it's got this high-speed filming going on or is that to do with the 3d??? Anyway this led to double distraction and Peter Jackson should know normal speed makes everything look cheaper and more like SET and COSTUMES tv special Quest of the Delta Knights and the lower the frame rate the more cinema-y and ATMOSPHERE it looks

http://movieline.com/2012/12/14/hobbit-high-frame-rate-science-48-frames-per-second/ this

http://www.vulture.com/2012/12/critics-on-the-hobbits-high-frame-rate.html

ok some people might like the 48 FPS idea in general but can we at least agree that Lord of the Rings movie should be kind of hazy Final Fantasy IV look to it and not hyperreal. Or you know, like improve green screen and stuff before attempting something like this? I liked the comment where someone feels like they're watching a making of documentary of the movie and waiting for the real movie to start. Also commenter 823948934 was right that a nature documentary would probably look good this way. March of the Penguins 2 or something

edit:   more convincing than the dwarves in hobbit

brave was pretty good but seemed a little short, maybe could have used more intro/normal time and less arguing and drama time

watched the new andrew garfield spider man with my parents.  It is definitely more interesting than the tobey macguire ones, butit seemed a lot of the same rehashed jammed into a movie that tried to do a lot but kinda half assed a lot

I was hoping it was OKAY movie wrapped in a Bourne shell (get it). I also hated Paul Greengrass or whatever his name's directing so I wanted to see one with halfway normal filming again like the original. I could seriously not follow any of the action sequences in Ultimatum like okay somebody's swinging at someone now he's got a FOOT and somebody's trying to beat someone down with a foot. And Supremacy I think I liked the escape from the hotel/foot chase thing best because I could actually follow the sequence of events. If they're trying to convey how confused/sudden the whole thing is to a bystander I'd rather take it in from Bourne's view and be all super-sharp senses. Or whatever the first movie did to convey action was well done
