This has seriously been my addiction for the past week or so.

So I heard about the game, downloaded the demo from the Xbox live arcade and immediately went to go buy some MS Points.

The game is called Castle Crashers, from the same folks who brought us Alien Hominid HD. Tom Fulp (webmaster of newgrounds) and Dan Paladin. You take a one of a variety of characters (which most of them you must unlock) and adventure through the world of castle crashers in a beat em up style adventure reminiscent of Golden Axe and other titles. There are also some RPG elements such as leveling up, stats points, magic and whatnot. And also a broad range of weapons and pets (which follow you around providing various bonuses) to collect.

The game is simply fantastic. And when I say simply, I actually mean it. The game is simple, meaningless time killing fun. You can also play with 3 other friends, which is a great experience, or take the adventure online with Xbox Live. There is also a player vs player mode.

Have the online matchmaking glitches been fixed? The game is a lot of fun, but I want to try out the minigames/play the story mode with people online.

My live subscription ran out a while ago, so not sure. I haven't tried it myself either, but really want to.

Beat this awhile back, yeah it's pretty good. I wonder, do they sell it in a box? I'm getting a 360 soon for Fable 2, but there's no way I'd pay for online.

You don't need to pay for an xbox live membership in order to download it. It can be purchased with xbox live points from the marketplace with a silver membership which is free.

Also you can buy a prepaid 1400 ms points card for under 20 bucks from a variety of places such as movie rental stores. The game itself is 1200 points so I guess you could spend the other 200 on castle crashers gamerpics if your a fucking fag boy like me.

Huh. Well, I'll pass then. Already played it on my buddy's shlocks360. The whole MS points thing is BS. but that's another topic altogether (filled with swearing and ranting most likely).

Hahah, this game rocks. I remember when it came out, I downloaded it and immediately invited my friends over to play. We were planning on going to a football game that day, but instead we blew it off and played Castle Crashers for like 6 hours. It was awesome. Unfortunately, after you've beaten the game once or twice, it loses most of its appeal. It's a great game for the price and a blast to play, but it doesn't last long.
