Bidding DKP is horrible, zero sum is just fine.

omg no not dkp! does every guild here operate on dkp ?
Dkp is just horrible

most end-game raiding guilds use DKP

my raid runs on the simple Zero-Sum, no bidding, person with the most points gets the item.

I hate bidding systems, there can be a few loopholes (my brother and the other hunters in his raid obtained all their gear by bidding 1 DKP each they just took turns dividing the loot or determined who needed it more)

Bidding can be fine if there's not alot of assholes in your raids, but I don't really like bidding systems.

Zero sum DKP. Simple, nothing fancy and it works. Everyone should use it

My guild doesn't use DKP at all.

We use Loot Council; basically you make a loot list of items you'd like to have. We have representatives for each class and when an item on your list comes up, your class rep discusses with the Loot Council based on raid attendance, loot already received, and how much of an effort you put in whether you are worthy of the item or not. The Loot Council then makes a decision based on the information they get from the class reps.

It sounds pretty weird but it's a great system imo, though obviously you need unbiased reps

But then I've never had any experience with DKP

This is the loot system in a perfect world.

Our guild is considering trying it.

IIRC, Eternals from Shadowmoon, easily the best guild on the server uses loot council. It's good imo if you have a more tight-knit raiding core of like 55'ish players and the officers aren't douchebags. My brother has pretty good ties with the guild (Like 3 of his RL friends are in it) and they've had no problems with it and no stories of people getting screwed over

hmm not sure what our system is called but basically we do not use dkp
we use roll modifiers -
You get points for things like being on time - being in a raid and completing it - yadayada-
the points are saved on a page and when you want something you can add these points to your roll. ( as long as you state that in time heh.)
so joe nobody ( a main , not an alt {mains always roll priority })   rolls 56 on an item. But Jane somebody uses 10 point and rolls 11-110. his points . He rolls a 103. wins - something like that . Im not good at explain'n
I heard ninja dkp stories that were pretty bad and didnt make much sence .

This is correct

We abandoned bidding DKP a while ago because you'd get say one person with 250 DKP and someone with 170 DKP bidding on an item and the faggot with 170 going "LOLOL I'M GONNA BID ALL MEH DKP SO HE HAS LESS DKP THAN ME GWAHAHAHA". We even had a rule where an item would only go for half what was bid by the max bidder in situations like that, but zero sum just works so much better.

Also DragonX your dwarf looks as though he should be in Kiss or something  :brow:
