None. Any time a classic series gets resurrected it's always mismanaged and completely run into the ground by a bunch of idiots. The Metroid series is the perfect example of this.
i disagree a lot!  not about the statement itself about how this shit is always mismanaged but about the example.  the metroid games are some of the few exceptions to this imo.  the only 3d one i've played was metroid prime, but i would say it is a really good adventure/exploration game and aside from too much SCANNING (actually i think this is better exposition than most games tend to have, tho, in terms of story.  iirc you just slowly learned what the fuck was going on; it was kinda neat) and stupid controls i thought it was a pretty good game.  i did not beat it, though.  also the gba metroids are legitimately good 2d platformer/action/adventure games.  fusion, specifically, but zero mission is a p good remake too.

Yeah, I agree. As long as it is roughly the same company or people behind the games, then it should turn out well. It's hard for someone to botch their own series, especially if it was very successful to begin with.

metroid prime didn't have stupid controls it had fantastic controls for a fps/adventure game on a console.

no i def think it had stupid controls.  the developers even said they intentionally made the controls differ from traditional fps controls so that people wouldn't look at it like a normal fps.  it wasn't a normal fps, but it fucking played like one in that you navigated environments/shot bullets in first person, so they're dumb as hell.  iirc what really killed it for me was how you could strafe around a corner and fire.  or maybe you could not strafe and move forward at all.  i think that might've been it!  like you had to HOLD BUTTON and move the joystick or w/e to strafe which prevented you from doing anything you would expect to do in an fps like strafe corners.  it felt very unintuitive and awkward to me!

The controls were fine once you realised that it was first person Ocarina of Time with a gun. You could strafe corners etc, it was just kind of awkward to do lots of things really fast, which you weren't really supposed to do anyway since the levels were constructed like an adventure game. The pacing was slower and more puzzle-oriented than an FPS and the enemies had simple and predictable attack patterns. The controls suited their purpose and I honestly preferred them to like HALO or whatever because playing a traditional FPS using a controller feels horrible and wrong and in need of a mouse.

I also disagree, mismanagement and running a franchise into the ground is difficult to do, especially if it's one thats either never known or sells itself out so much that it's null and void to think it'll be ruined.

Oh sure it may be different in gameplay or some other context if thats what you mean, but honestly not everyone has that SNES or Sega nostalgia (i.e. new generation) so you can't expect tride and true to a T sequal but atleast one true in spirit.
A tool is a tool regardless. I mean if you suck, you suck, and not even the most perfect tool could save you. And if your damn good then even with the worst tool ever conceived you could chug out some high quality shit.

Aw you know what they TOTALLY have to remake!? Space Invaders! That game was the best!
OHWAITWHATTHEYDID!?
I think I have to come in and say that Space Invaders extreme on the DS is by far one of the best games made in recent years. It's so fun and addictive and fucking hyper without having to resort to that bullethell bullshit
