Sup guys?
I have a mostly new build (everything's new except for DVD and Hard Drives)

I have it for say, two-three weeks now, and it started to freeze up randomly.
At first it happened while I was playing Rome:TW, so I was all "cool, heat problem, oh wait I have shitload of fans and everything seems cool anyways".

Then it started happening everywhere.
I can calmly surf the web and suddenly, BAM! Everything's locked up and reset is the only way out.
It's pretty fucking annoying and the only things I can come up with are heat (but nothing feels hot) or Power Source problem (but I got a new powerful one especially).

pentium dual @ 2000ghz, 2000ghz
1gb RAM
MSI GeForce 9000GT
ASUS P5KC motherboard
A Spire 550 power source

I kinda lost my technowizziness when they started splitting cores like WWII just ended, so tell me if you guys need more info and I'll dig it up.

Thanks in advance, men, you are the shit.

Download speedfan and get some temperature readings on your cores (just take a screenshot). Also this sounds like it could be a HDD problem, especially since you stated that the HDDs are not new. You can also get sudden lockups if your RAM is not seated properly so I would reseat that to make sure.

My connection is kinda shit lately so I can't upload files here.
I'll try to word out what I got:
GPU is at 43C and is marked with a V
The rest have blue down arrows
Except AUX which shows a nice little flame and is marked at a stable 119C. I have no idea what AUX means but it doesn't seem good.

EDIT: Shit worked

Temps look fine (you should also check load temps though). You can just ignore the AUX value, it usually gives a "garbage reading" and you should just disable it from settings.

Freeze ups on a new build are very often associated with the mobo not accepting the brand of RAM you are using for one reason or another. My dad bought me some cheapo ram and my mobo really didn't like it. At the moment I am on a matched pair of corsair and it has never frozen since.

I see, so it's more likely than not a RAM problem, I'll have to check into that, though I think they should be best buds. My cousin did all the building and he knows his stuff.

rami, how do I check load temp? Also sup?

To check the load temp just run the most intensive things you can think of and look at the temperatures.

ie a game or video editing or modeling rendering or something

Make sure that your ram is the right type, and is running at the right speed/voltage in the bios. You can eliminate the possibility of HDD by booting an OS from CD like linux and seeing how stable it runs. Do you have all the latest video/motherboard drivers?

if it's a new computer check everything is nestled really well, really well, the sata cables especially.

it's probably a software problem though buddy, you said you kept your harddrives, did you reinstall windows?

the only intense thing I have ATM is Rome: Total War which is 4 years old now, but OH WELL. Reading is fine.

RAM, Drivers and voltages and things should be alright, but I didn't do the assembling, I'll check with my cousin.
I have an Ubuntu disc around somewhere, but it freezes up pretty rarely and randomly (only happened once today) so it could take a long while.
Checked inner connections and all were set tight and ready, and yes, Windows was reinstalled and I believe It's entire partition was formated.
