Haha, pretty interesting. I can't feel sorry for anyone who commits suicide though. It's like if they did it that's obviously what they wanted. They couldn't control it? BS. This kid could've chosen to be more mature and not get so easily offended.

Look at me. i'm Jin Kiyami. I'm a motherfuckin badass on the internet. Depression? Nope, not for me. I ain't weak like that

Seriously Jin, thanks for this. Why don't you tell us some more of your thoughts on death and dying

I know a woman who tried to kill herself once (by cutting wrists) but someone found her before she died and now she's taking medicines and says she's happy now
Play Raimond Ex (if you haven't already)

I clicked strangeluv's link thinking it would be an ownage but it's just a shitty topic where a bunch of PHI 101 kiddies discuss death. I swear someone said THANATOS in that topic.

Nah I just thought it's funny how he could find death so depressing and then do a spinaround and say "Suicide?? How pathetic"

a lot of people do this man. they are like DEATH IS THE END OF EVERYTHING and then draw the conclusion that no one could ever want that and anyone who does is a scrub.

I'm more interested in what this "offense" jin kiyami thinks he killed himself over is since he doesn't mention it anywhere in his suicide note?

Let a mod warn me but I can't ask this simpler: are you an ass or a jackass, which one?

People do give out warning signs but they aren't always picked up, even by those closest to them. And some of them may not even be acted upon, which makes it worse.

Very true, one of my best friends in high school hung himself over some girl. We went out like 2 days earlier and he was acting really weird asking some retarded questions. Thinking back, I remember looking at his eyes and they look completely dead. Some of the things he said were:

"Haha, yo you think I could talk to that girl?"

"You think this girl will be a slut too?"

I started asking him if he was having some issues with his girl. Seriously, this guy was like my twin, he took a lot of my characteristics hanging around me and he was my road dog. Like, it was like me  killing myself over some girl. The girl basically dumped him like he was nothing, just said "I'm fucking sick of you get lost and don't call my phone fag.". She was cheating too... I didn't know she was at the time though. This guy could honestly get as many girls as he wants, he was a good looking guy. Fucking guy hung himself in his bedroom, his parents found him just hanging there.

To be honest, when I saw the girl after hearing this news, I fucking wanted to put a hole in her chest. Like, no one talked to her. I MEAN NO ONE she just disappeared. Personally, even before this happen. I always put restraints on what I said to certain people. It's very easy to pick up vibes of depression, low self-esteem, etc. I treat nerdy people, ugly girls, fat people,  and ill people pretty good. Like, I would never make fun of them because I know I'm the best at making fun of people and how heavy my words can be.

Moral of the story is that you should watch what you say and try to pick up on shit like this man. Like S-Luv said, even the closest people can suffer from depression.

Is the video to his death still available to watch online? Its sad someone would end their life like this, but to be honest I wouldnt have called the police because I just wouldnt have been able to believe it was real. Millions of videos on youtube with stupic pranks and such and thats all I would have thought about if I was watching.

Besides, you could have gotten in trouble with the police if you made a mistake right? would be seen as time wasting..

what? why would you think that? that's exact the wrong kind of attitude to have towards this type of thing.

the only way you could possibly get in trouble is if you gave the police false or misleading information or had some sort of contempt against them. If someone called the police and told them that this person lived in a different state, yes they would probably get charged with "obstruction of justice" idk steel or someone can probably tell you more.

with that attitude, you'd see a car swerving between multiple lanes on the highway and choose not to call the police because idk if he was actually sober and had just spilled coffee on his lap YOU MIGHT GET ARRESTED FOR TRYING TO BE HELPFUL

Yeah man, you only get in trouble if you're LYING to the police, not if you're wrong.  If you have reason to believe the person is going to kill themselves (i.e. they SAY they are, that's reason enough), then nothing is going to happen to you for trying to do something about it.

Living in the UK and having this happen in America would mean even calling the cops wouldnt do much, its technically out of their jurisdiction?  Takes hours sometimes for the police to show up if you call them over here where I live, cant even imagine how useless they would be to aid someone in a different country.

how would you even notify the cops? what if aZn_goku666 posts on gw tomorrow that he was going to kill himself but we knew nothing about him? I mean for all we know he could be living in peru or whatever. I guess IPs might help but then not everyone has a static IP either.
yeah i'm a little curious about this too. From what I know about this case, one of the members on justin.tv notified a moderator who in turn notified an administrator. I assume the admin must have gotten in contact with his ISP and his ISP provided all of the relevant info (address, name) to the authorities.

How the HELL anyone can say shit like this is beyond me. People don't kill themselves because they want to be famous. People kill themselves because they want to die. Holy fuck. They sincerely believe that being dead would be a better alternative to their life.

And the whole "oh they're just taking the easy way out" bullshit is one of the most uncivilized things anyone could say. How can you look at someone voluntarily CEASING THEIR EXISTENCE and think of it as a cheap way to solve their problems? Jesus christ.

People lose their ability for rational thought when they become depressed. No, it's not something they can control.

Exactly people who have no self control. Just sad that someone would ever think life was so horrible they had to kill themselves. I can't feel sorry for them. The kid obviously had suicide in mind before, this just provoked it. If he actually wanted to be alive, he would be here today. Also, whoever warned me assumes I know nothing of depression. Idiotic? So expressing my views is idiotic? Oh, forget it, apparently we're not aloud to have minds here.

But my point is, to just say "screw it my life sucks!" is the easy way out. To go through the pain and actually try to get help or get over it is hard. So before you warn me for calling my statements idiot, read them before in blind rage you warn me. Before telling me to stop assuming, stop assuming yourself. Stop assuming I've never been through deppression, stop assuming I've never had to deal with suicidal thoughts.

I think it's mandatory by federal law that every police station/county in America has a website that lists the emergency numbers.  You can't call 911 in Britania but if you call it here they can patch you to any place in the states and since they KNEW who this guy was and where he lived it was as simple as saying "yeah, i'm watching this guy die in whatever, florida can you please send help??"

If it's a prank call then yes you can get in trouble but if someone else is faking it then they're the ones who'll get in trouble.

Am I the only one who would've called the cops as soon as the kid went down?

Maybe it's cause I don't see a lot of people do this, but if someone posted a suicide note here I would definitely report it...
I would have even if I was 90% sure it was a joke, just to discourage the person from doing something like this in the future.  A couple years ago this girl I knew online broadcast to a chatroom that she had slit her wrists and wanted to die, even going so far as to intentionally mistype, saying her vision was growing darker and there was blood on her keyboard making it difficult to see & spell properly.  I happened to know her boyfriend, called him, and made him call the police.  They called her parents, who walked in on her sitting at the computer completely fine.  She was in some SERIOUS trouble, and I'm relatively sure they made her go to counseling.  She apparently had been trying to get a hold of her boyfriend after a fight, and was hoping one of us in the chat would be worried and get a hold of him so he'd rush over to see her.

I can't honestly say I'm surprised that it took so long for someone to contact the police, especially given that he apparently had done the same thing in the past and there are so many who play pranks online for attention.  Hopefully this makes people more cautious about how they handle similar situations in the future, and how they treat other people.
