everytime i see the trailer for this in the theatre I cringe. I haven't seen the original but that line "if you die, the earth lives," just makes me want to bash my skull in for making absolutely no sense and trying to hook people into seeing a movie that will probably not make sense in it's entirety either.

I really do try to give every movie a fair chance despite their trailers and ratings and reviews and stuff, but the only thing about this movie that appeals to me is the Wolverine trailer at the beginning that is not going to be released online (even more bait).

how does this not make any sense? the movie is about an alien that takes the form of a human to find out whether or not humanity should be eradicated because the planet is dying and they aren't taking care of it or some shit.

I didn't even know the movies plot but after watching the trailer and hearing that I could pretty much figure it out.

seriously though keanu reeves could have worked as klaatu if he played the role as SOME DUDE and not NEO......
but that is not the case and it would be outrageous to expect a hollywood filmmaker to possess that kind of creative foresight.

anyway yeah, i don't think i came closer to bashing my head in over a remake as i did when i found out about this. usually filmmakers are not so staggeringly unaware of their surroundings but every year they manage to dig that hole of critical human failure deeper and deeper.
