Anybody over 16 who thinks this is a sound and practical decision doesn't need an intervention.  Just let it happen.  If he gets over it, good; if not, that's his own fault.  Either way, people have to learn from their own mistakes.

This guy I know (who isn't really my friend because I don't really get along with him but he's very close friends with my friends and I guess you'd call him an associate or something) just got a girl pregnant that he's only known for like five months and he's going to marry her and I told them tonight that when I see him I'm going to make damn sure I tell him he is fucking stupid.

this might be considered mean or something but the guy is consistently being a fucking moron and his family/friends will are apparently refusing to tell him so. I know the dude doesn't like me very much and I've often told him many times before that the actions he's chosen to take were fucking retarded but I'm going to make this a special case because I sincerely think its my duty to do so if no one else will.

For laughs, I could declare myself a pro gamer on youtube and not actually do anything on the professional level.  My slim chances of becoming rich off of it wouldn't be much worse than his, but the time investment would be way lower.

I know what you can do! I had a situation like this a while ago with one of my best friends.

We (as in other friends and myself) invited him to my flat and tied him to a chair with Duck-tape.

We asked him to bring his console (An Xbox360).

We then got 2 sledgehammers and destroyed it in front of him (It was funny cause he began to cry as well)

The point of this was he had been taking the MLG too far and ditching us to game (and pretending he was doing something else)

That was about a year ago and he hasn't talked about MLG since So he learnt his lesson me thinks

i'd cry too. not because my possessions were being destroyed but because being betrayed by my friends would hurt and I would be terrified if my friends forcibly tied me to a chair and brought out two sledgehammers and started smashing my shit and wonder when they're going to smash my fucking kneecaps next.

one day you realize he will take a sledgehammer to you or one of your children because you decided to teach him not to fucking play videogames the fuck is wrong with you.

this is probably a fake story but even if it is no one thinks you're cool.
