Round of applause for Lonehero2008 and his excellent problem solving skills.

I couldnt relate to this article and I found it pretty stereotypical and unrealistic to be honest. You touched up on a few plausible cases but I disagree with a lot of stuff in this article.

The Unicef game is too fast and Alter Ego is poorly made.

I chose to helpfully iron the shirt:
You have chosen an inappropriate response. (Or, at least, we hadn't thought of it. Please make a different selection.)
The phone rings while Daddy is ironing a shirt. He must leave you alone in the room with the iron.

I guess I'm only allowed to make wrong decisions.

I would like to state that if you were even really reading any of it he never made the impression you claim he made. I would also like to state that argueing with someone over the internet is pretty stupid, especially since they are most likely halfway across the country/world and you two would never meet. Don't get angry because of what someone said on the internet and there is really no need to write f**k and s**t. It's an article, eventually someone would get offended. Doesn't mean you have to take out any issues you have irl by complaining about a dumb article. Nuff Said, and before you think about replying...I wont say anything else to you so don't even try it.

Can you read man because

Whether they like to admit it or not, women are devious and controlling individuals, it comes naturally and prepares them for parenthood later on in life, but for the time being if they aren't trying to control their boyfriends or various objects and activities in day to day life, they get their fix from these sorts of games.

Is exactly the impression I claimed he made, and that's exactly what he said.  Sorry that you didn't read that though, but thanks for saying I'm the one not reading it.  But we'll never meet each other, so I don't know why you even bothered trying to say anything to me.  Also, it's not like professional sites and magazines haven't written the same types of things, obviously I should never get upset about someone saying something like this because it's on the internet, and the internet isn't real, right?  Glad you won't say anything to me, it probably has to do with the fact that you don't read things.  Hey look, I didn't say any swear words either!  You're welcome.

you didn't have the humor tag on there last night, so you can't get upset, also who cares if it's a humor article? It's played out, it's boring. I've read this article about a million times on other websites, magazines, etc, and at least those articles' jokes were grounded in reality. You're sitting here saying POKEMON AND THE SIMS are for girls.

EDIT: for the first time the first picture loaded and i honestly did not make that connection and was wondering what the title had to do with the article.

it's an article on girls and gaming and there's a disclaimer saying that it's informative and based on extensive research, of course it's a joke article.

After all, it can't be all bad, right?
Right?

Right. I’m not sure how a more diverse audience is a bad thing at all, man! I mean I’ve only played a handful of commercial games that are genuinely good, as opposed to just good for a videogame, but one thing they all have in common is that I wouldn’t consider any of them as being particularly aimed at some dumb age or gender demographic. I’d actually say that one of the defining features of pretty much any worthwhile movie or book or game or anything is that they are hard to pigeonhole as just appealing to X audience, and I’d think that a more diverse crowd playing videogames could actually allow developers to try new things and move away from just making games for children and teenage boys. Get dem Nintendogs outta my Gamestop is fine, but honestly while stuff like Barbie Adventures isn’t anything more than vapid pandering neither is Gears Of War or whatever, and I think that rather than just having two different types of dumb demographics to pander to it’ll eventually make more sense for game developers to just make games that have the potential to appeal to both sides and then they can finally start to move away from dumb stereotypes of what women want or will this game hit the crucial 15-year-old-dumbfuck demographic. They probably won’t but it’s a start!

lol nice article as usual, Carius. I guess I second Liberty ... I can give myself a patronizing pat on the back for not fitting into to any of these categories, but for a joke article (durr) in a sad and ironic twist it's fairly accurate for a lot of gamers who are girls... i mean, for the, like, 1.5 others that i've met in my life. I think you should add the 360 gamer girl who only plays GTAIV and gears, they're like the guy ones except they're chicks. in general, though, it seems that a lot of gamers only play a few types of games, however lame that seems.

I actually enjoy Alter Ego quite a bit. It's fun to see how the different choices all play out.

As for the article: excellent, informative, good work!
