The Wait is So, So Long
This is a film based off a poem written by Strangeluv, narrated by Lyndon, and with music from Couch's band Swansaw.

I can't do no narratives since I ain't got cool friends and what not so I spent three weeks on this. This is going to be on my NYU Tisch application though I will probably not get in! I'll still ace 50% of the decision process though.

That was pretty good man.  Film schools eat this shit up!  If you didn't submit this to Temple but end up going there, definitely save it because the professors will be all over your nuts.

I already got accepted to Temple without submitting anything because they didn't ask for it.

But yeah thanks man I appreciate it.

This was cool as shit psyburn I liked how the images went along with the poem and lyndon's narrative added alot of emotion to it towards the end. Was that a new swansaw song?

is it true film schools are incredibly expensive and hard to get into?

Psyburn, you have finally redeemed yourself for making the King of Kong AMV's...

Well you already know my thoughts on the film. I think it's pretty good and you have some great shots in there. My favourites are the zoom out in the beginning with the guy by the river and at the end, where the scene with the zoom-up party hat and the credits are seamless. It's also good that this is sort of a GW COLLABORATIVE EFFORT of sorts and by that I mean with all content used being made by GW members; you at the helm with my Dr. Seuss-inspired poem, Lyndon's voice for narration and Couchfiend's band's song (which both capture the mood for the piece pretty well).

So good work! I think we should all give ourselves a little pat on the back for combining our talents like this.

Wow. Just. . . wow.

Impressive movie, Psyburn. The GW collective effort can't be something that was easily pulled off, and all of you who participated deserve serious kudos.
Check it out! I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year!

@Coxswain - the song is on the (only) swansaw album, which I do not believe has been posted on GW or anywhere. Ask couch for it.

@YourHero - no that's not me, I'm the guy with the glasses towards the end.

Thanks guys, I really did not expect this kinda response at all, since honestly, I didn't think it was that great. But, Strangeluv knows how to write good text so everything worked out.

I need someone to tell me if this goes under the category SHORT FILM or EXPERIMENTAL FILM for a film festival I am entering.

I'd put it under Experimental, because I guess Short Films would have more traditional narrative formats. While you can look at this like a narrative, it's not a plot narrative but this is more like a monologue. And I don't think it would compete well against films under the Short Film category.

I don't know man, by experimental film standards this is pretty, uh, tame I guess.  I think Short Film would be more appropriate.

edit: "Tame" is probably not the best word but I think you know what I mean.

I think short films would be better too. Experimental is probably more for stuff thats more surreal and weird, or that use some special techniques? I dont really know though, do you have examples of films sent to those categories from past years, that should give you a better idea.
