Some Kind of Review

Generally I think the ordering of the tracks was spot on and I like cover art of this particular album a lot more than I usually do.

I am pretty amateurish when it comes to audio production although I have tried to be constructive about each track. For some I've said what I imagined whilst listening and I think it would be interesting to see what other people thought of when they played though.

On with the tracks:

1. Lars - Måneferd
The ambience of this song is amazing - I would really like you to tell me how you made your soundscapes and got them to blend together so well. The mood starts sinister with the voices and goes into a sort of futuristic-gangster-movie-intro sequence where you can imagine people trading information on concrete platforms dressed in dirty jumpsuits and trying not to make eye contact with rather abundant CCTV cameras everywhere. Ok maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration but I like to listen to the latest troubs in bed wearing my beefy headphones and I sorta drift off and dream. If you have more music like this send me it. This is one of my faves on the album.

2. Unt - Bathing in Shadows
I've heard one or two of the things you sent me on MSN an age ago and they were brilliant then and you appear to have EVOLVED FURTHER. The placement of the drums and effects are so spot on that you get a sensation when you're listening to it, you know how you subconsciously secondguess what's going to happen next in a song, but the song beats you to it and you get that little ooooooooooo-rush?

3. Soulmman - Use-A-Name
First things first - I know nothing about rap or hiphop or whatever you cool kids call it. Yeah I have one or two mainstream rap records on my PC that would make Steel throw up on his shoes if he heard them. From a completely unexperienced perspective this sounds really professional, like a real track I would hear on the radio. I like how the lyrics aren't necessarily i-will-break-yo-face-nigga-and-take-yo-car and they are pretty soft for rap and are nice on my ears. I'd like to listen to more of this perhaps getting rapeducation at the same time (help a white guy out here?)

4. helter skelter - Raw (Wu-Tang Clan remix)
I feel like going downstairs and punching my mum in the tits when I listen to this. No I joke but really, it sounds COOL and ANGRY (but see the above review as I am raptarded).

5. Alec - My Time Machine
You need drums. I like the lyrics and the concept that you can't get your time machine working. I am not too sure what level you are on for home-recording and whatnot and what you used but you obviously have talent and you should get some $$$ to buy some kit to improve your recordings. This reminds me of the time I was trying to reduce muffle on vocals by recording in my wardrobe and then coming out to find my mum just going O_O at me from the other side of my room. No mum, I wasn't looking for Narnia.

6. JOJOFACE - Restless
This tracks is fucking fantastic. I say that because since its release I have listened to it a good 10 times already. Maybe it's the melancholy of it all that appeals to me? I imagine traffic out of focus in a dystopian city with rain drawn in lines hammering on the ground like a cell from the graphic novel in Max Payne. Definitely something to do with travelling somewhere emotional. You should make a whole album and feed it to my ears.

7. Jamie Sime - I Can See Stars
The vocals in your songs always seem subtley stiking, they really draw you in and this one is no different. Although you pull of the guitar backing and vocals quite well I am more of a fan of you and your electronic music (so please do more). When are you releasing a new album? - that's what I wanna know.

8. Raen - Ithavol
This is classic i-am-in-a-dark-boiler-room-and-something-is-about-to-happen music! It's like if you extracted the guitar line from a arbitrary NIN track and ommitted his blips and bass you would probably be left with something like this. It's creepy and I like it.

9. ATARI - Brand New Day
I hate ATARI. I even PM'ed him an iframe of meatspin.com once because he warned me for someshit. Saying that I am totally gay for his music. Fantastic.

In the past it has been a bit... tissy (too many hi-hats and cymbals) but you seem to have got that totally sorted now. Every time I hear something new from you your voice gets better and the tracks sound more and more professional. I would not be surprised if we were all going to see ATARI in concert in future years, just make sure you hire someone to take out MJK before you do that :D

10. Chris Riggs - My Love is Shared (Death from Above 1979 cover)
The guitar sounds proper ass at first but then after about 20 seconds or so the song begins to suit itself (I don't know if that makes sense?). The vocals are really cool and I like the effect used on them, gives a robotic edge that adds to the mechanical-metal feel of it. I would be interested to hear more music in this style to see if it works.

11. Kevin Liu & Ryan S. Jenq - Falling Slowly (The Frames cover)
When I was younger (16, I'm 21 now) I wrote a song for my girlfriend at the time because I was totally besotted and the vocals sounded like this. Now several years after committing such terrible crimes against music I still sorta swear randomly (anyone else do that when they remember something embarassing that they did?).

Saying that you have balls for actually recording a record and putting it out there and I enjoyed it in a weird way.

12. Mince Wobley - Experimental progressive sludge indie rock
One day I am going to climb inside your head and sit on the laterally moving cogs in that rotary engine you have up there and observe the random facts as they pass by. As I do that this music will emant from several lobes that flicker with a sort of malevolent KNOWING about itself. I like how it is complete nonsense but at the same time interesting to listen to. I don't think I could listen to a whole album of sludge noise but at the same time I can see myself enjoying it in short bursts between tracks.

13. DarkPriest - Shores of Roine
This music would really suit a game like Deus Ex or some sort of high-speed futuristic racer like Wipeout. It could be the backing music to the screen where you set your payload layout on your spacecraft before pressing "fly" (like you did in FA-18 hornet but futuristic). Saying that, if you're one of those people who aims to make techno and hates it when people say "oh this is VG music" I am sorry. I get that all the time too but it DOES sound like computer game music!

14. DJ Jazzper feat Bonghits - Where My Burgers At
This track is upbeat but in a deliberately-detuned way that makes you feel somewhat uneasy. I guess you could compare it to walking through a village that has some weird cult and KNOWING about it as you walk, acknowleding them in a freaky way hoping that you're not giving away that you know. I really like the percussion used in this and the timing of noises and effects that complement the freakyishness. The way that sounds that are just noise are pushed to create new sounds is cool and I like it.

15. ase - field experiments
This reminds me of one of those adverts where to advertise the product they take TV footage of it making different noises by funtioning then strapping them together. I'm sure they did it on top gear with a bunch of poorly made cars to see what music they could get out of them if they played them. Pretty eerie but at the same time I knew exactly where it was going.

16. helter skelter - Oh Baby
I love the backing track you've got on this, not necessarily the vocals that have been snatched from that other song because I am from the UK and have heard that song a billion times. Do I like it? I am completely undecided.

17. Puppet Master - Darla
This sounds like the strokes in a really nice way. I love the organish instrument you've got running in the background and the roughness of the guitar and vocals combined. This is one of my faves off the album and I would really like to hear more stuff like this.

18. Tophue - Machines
This really had to be listened to on headphones to be appreaciated. If you listened to it on speakers you might not have got the way different guitar tracks are placed in different areas between your ears. It's pretty beautiful and another one of my favourites off this compilation. I am gonna try something like this and get back to you on that one because I really like the style.

19. Ace Heartwind Teckno Club - Bobblehead
Creepy intro that reminds me of something but I have no idea what. If I were remaking littlebigplanet as a game where you slaughter children and play basketball with their dead bodies I would put this on the soundtrack (give or take a few q'ran references). I really like this one in particular because of how professionally creepy it sounds. It's like Aphex twin and radiohead had a baby and brought it up on pot noodles and smack. Fantastic stuff. Make more. Now.

20. Alec - Take My Heart to the Flames
My comments for this are pretty much the same as for Time Machine. You need to get a drummer or a drum sequencer and drop some bass and percs onto this shit and it'll be epic.

21. Ryan S. Jenq - A Gangster's Lament
Back to imagining things that go with the music, I can kinda see some sort of noir scene where two dark figures are doing some sort of waltz in a smoky hall with shadowy pillars marking the perimeter of a black-and-white tiled floor. Like a dance with a sense of forboding, a prelude to another scene where one of them gets it from fat tony with the tommy gun. In all seriousness though, this is a pretty good contribution and I like it a lot. It does sound very cinematic/dramatic.

22. Mince Wobley - Will My Three Year Old Son Love Me More If I Buy Him A Playstation Three
If he's one of these wankers who likes to jump around and destroy ornaments and furniture a PS3 is just the job. Send him round to his friend's house to destroy their living room instead.

This track has a lot more mood and feeling to it than the other (more sludgey) contribution. I can imagine with some foreground vocals this could sound a lot deeper and melancholy. It would be cool to see an extended version of this track with those features.

23. JOJOFACE - Step 1, Create One Idea. Step 2, Create A Second Idea. Step 3. Combine. Regardless.
I like both of your tracks from this album. I really hope you are working on a CD of your own or you have one you can send to me or something because I really dig the style and mood of your music and they almost fit my current musical tastes like a glove. A sort of subtle melancholic electronica that retains suggestion without losing dignity and going all heavy and glitchy like all the reznors are doing these days (I love NIN just the world and his wife and myself will stop at nothing to get that sound mixed down to MP3).

24. conchfeld / Puppet Master / ase - Come December
Holy crap. That's all I can say. It's like Jonny Cash but I don't want to hang myself with my shit primark belt instead I am totally amazed. The three sections are like separate acts in a play and they fit together really well. I'm not sure I've heard many GW related tracks that have been worked on by 3 people - this is a pretty extraordinary effort. It's sorta christmassy too which I know is not the point of the album but it certainly suits this moment in time.

The recording and guitar was really excellent and a great way to end the album.

I haven't done anything meritocratic like rate each track out of ten, however, I would like to say that I thought this one was pretty above par and my favourite contributor to this was JOJOFACE who I had previously heard nothing from.

^ That was my 2nd attempt at reviewing the album by the way. The first time it just felt like too much of an effort because there was so many tracks but on my 2nd whole playthrough I decided it would be rude not to considering all the time people have put into this!

Yeah I'm not going to review everything but I'm listening to this right now and I'll probably just edit this post with some stuff:

-UNT "Bathing in The Shadows" is really cool and sounds really tightly mixed, I really didn't know unt was that good.

-JOJOFACE "restless" sounded alright but it got kind of boring mid-way through. Actually both of these songs are pretty much in the same vein, they sound decent but there is no substance.

-Jamicus is great as always but I liked this particular song alot more than I remembered liking his last album. I can't really put my finger on it but I love what he did with the harmony branching/meeting that way and this song actually sounds a bit more serious and focused than his earlier stuff, I'm probably full of shit though because its been a long time since I listened to it.

-Atari "Brand New Day" I knew I heard that from somewhere before. IT SOUNDS LIKE ATARI TAKE IT AS You wilL

-Soulman "Use-A-Name" this song sounded groovy as hell but I still think it was missing something. Maybe its just because the song itself sounded kind of generic R&B-ish and standard, but that didn't take away from the music quality. you don't hear many gw tracks sounding this solid and cohesive so thats a really good thing.

-"Come December" I can hear the first chords playing right now and I'm getting pissed off...talented fuckers. I liked this one the most probably. Puppet Master should sing a tad bit louder and thats all of the criticism I can think of.

- Tophue' "Machines" MOOORREEE!

-Lars "I don't understand squarehead talk"  not my cup o' tea but apparently lars can mix some shit up

-Raen what the hell did you do turn the distortion all the way up and hit the same two notes. It got a little better towards the end though.

-Psyburn "Falling Slowly" even though it sounded like you were bullshitting through it I think you can actually keep a tune as long as it doesn't go too high. The "A G's Lament" was fucking awesome though

- Chris Riggs who is this it sounds good but its a little cluttered and heavy imo

Yeah, that was basically it.

But no, really, actually I was kinda disappointed with the way the recording of my song turned it. It relied a lot of subtle changes in the feedback and junk that just didn't come through on the recording. It was drone though, which pretty much is just lots of distortion and crap, which is kind-of an acquired taste (hell, I have a hard time listening to drone. Go listen to Sunn O))), that is some crazy shit). That's not to say I wrote a -good- drone song, but y'know, still :D

Lars - Good and suitable for an intro to the album. Maybe a bit long and at some points it did drag on a bit, but the production quality was great. Well done.
Unt - Probably my favourite track on the album. Great production quality and nice mixing. Love it. Great hip hop sound.
Soulmman - This one was great. I love hip hop more than any other genre pretty much. The beat was great, and the rap was suitable for the sound. Good job.
Alec - I enjoyed parts of this, and I can see where you're coming from but it needed more polish, even though it was an obvious effort for a 'sloppy' sound it would still have benefited from a little more work.
JOJOFACE - Nice and ambient. Pretty relaxing and builds nicely. However, I'm really not into those percussive noises... They sound too synthesized and detract from the natural feel of the song. But it's still good.
Jamie - Like most of your other stuff, this is steady, rolling and well performed. Honestly you have a great sound but it's often quite repetitive. Good job anyway.
Raen - The song seems to lack focus. I don't really know what else to say.
ATARI - Good track, but the distorted guitar always cuts in awkwardly. Musically it's a good track and I'm sure that when you improve your production skills you will be amazing. Good vocals.
Chris Riggs - I'm wondering whether the guitar is recorded or synthesized. Still, a good track. I like the vocal balancing and even though it's really obvious it lends a good effect.
Kevin Liu and Ryan S. Jenq - Hahaha.
Mince Wobley - Too much noise. Not my thing.
Darkpriest - A pretty good track. An interesting listen.
DJ Jazzper - I like how this track starts but then it sort of loses it with too many guitar parts.
ase - Another one of those 'noise' type tracks. Not bad by any means, but I would have liked something more melodic. I know you're a good singer!
Puppet Master - I like this track. Builds nicely with a good melody.
Tophue - Not too much variation in this track and at points I kind of lose interest in it. It's not bad though.
Ace Heartwind Teckno Club - Maybe a bit too much distortion on this track. I'm guessing this was the collaborative one? Still, nice composition if a little unfocused.
Alec (again) - Didn't really like this one. Musically sparse and yelling in my left ear...
Ryan S. Jenq - An alright composition but a bit repetitive. I wish you would quit all this 'gangster' shit though because it's pretty annoying dude.
Mince Wobley (again) - I know I've said this about a few other tracks, but it's too unfocused. I don't really see the point you were trying to make, musically.
JOJOFACE (again) - Nice, ambient like your other track. Good going.
conchfeld - Good singing, really good singing. Nice composition as well. Two thumbs up buddy.

btw the last track was conchfeld, Puppet Master and myself. As far as I know, ace heartwind teckno club (Realm Dude) was not a collab, although I could be wrong.

Alright I should give my comments.

I didn't comment on the last album because I didn't listen to it until way after the premiere. When I did listen to it there was something I wanted to write but I've already forgotten what it was. And it probably wasn't a good idea to bump a four month old topic.

But I just now downloaded the latest album and am listening. I will comment as I go along. Perhaps.

Måneferd
it starts out really promising. But it get stuck somewhere after a minute or two and doesn't go anywhere. After that there just isn't anything happening and I think the song could have been shorter. It's a nice beat and my head most certainly is bobbing.
But something could have happened.

Bathing in Shadows
If the whole song had been like the first 15 seconds I'd have been all over loving it.
Well even without this isn't so bad. I love the... whateverinstrument it is. Some thing you blow into right? I like that it gives it the right kind of feel. Like Måneferd it gets a bit repetitive after a while. I sort of wish these melodic headbobbing background songs could go somewhere with a bit of verse-singing or something. I don't know. I'm a pop guy :D

Use-A-Name
I'm not a big fan of the genre. Let that be said.
It sounds good but I can't tell one of these songs from the other. The quality is good at least.

Raw
Yeah I really don't like this genre. I'm sure it's good but it's not the music I like. It sounds more or less like it should sound. Which all things considered is way beyond what things sounded like waybackwhen. These two last songs would have made my jaw drop in the first album, but now they just feel a bit average just because I don't like the genre.
You could say that's how much better the troubadours have gotten.

My Time Machine
Whoho lyrics! The sound quality is lower than I've been used to so far. But it sort of works, I can see that there's something quite good there. And it's not too long which is always a good thing. It's friendly punk and it sounds exactly like that should sound.

Restless
Now this is my kind of music. Building stuff slowly. I'm liking it so far. Restless. So far it's resting for me at least. I can see where the restless is coming now with the background beat thingie.
I'm liking the combination of that beat that almost kills my head with the friendly inviting piano sound. Of course will I like it for six minutes?
It changed around a bit. This is how a long song should go. It always changes just before it starts to get repetitive.

I Can See Stars
Man... Jamie can sing. Coming Up For Air from an older Troubs is still on my iPod regular playlist. And it's still so goddamn good. I don't know what else to say.

Ithavol
dundundun. It's like Jaws. One minute now. Won't something happen? Uh-oh the shark is getting closer! Alright the high-pitched sounds... Work well in what they're probably supposed to do. Now it's eerily quiet. This is a mighty useful moodsetter. I think I might need light-hearted pop again soon...

Brand New Day
This starts out light... HOHOHO Dr. Horrible! Recognition gives this much points from me. That's how shallow I am. I think the voice works great except for the strange breathing that happen occasionally.
It's not as good as the original, but that's hard to beat now isn't it. It's very good.

My Love is Sharedg
More punk, this time I don't recognize the original so it's just punk. A bit like Alec, but with a better voice. I think at least. The guitar (It's the guitar right? I can't tell one instrument from another) is a bit loud which drowns out a lot.

Falling Slowly
Falling Slowly featuring in Psyburn. I'm not sure I dare press play...
OK the start is okay, but this song has a pretty bad high there somewhere.
Let's see how the chorus goes. GO PSY ROCK ON BITCH.
Poor you ;_;

Experimental Progressive Sludge Indie Rock
It's very experimental now in the start at least... And I see it's short, which is better than most progressive stuff I've seen :D
I like this. I don't know why. It's sad when I think something with "progressive" in it is almost too short.

Shores of Roine
Ach the variety! After the previous track this suddenly starts which is. Something completely different. From previous listenings DP has mostly had good stuff and it start out well. Varied and with buildup. I hope it won't disappoint when it's over. The theme changes halfway. But it goes back in thematic convergence and defeats the enemies.
Or something.
Man I'm a shitty reviewer... Especially when I only review DURING the song...

Where my Burgers at
I phased out but I'm bobbing my head so it must be a good sign. I see the song is five minutes though and I'm at the two minute mark I wonder if it'll hold up.
I'm at 4:30 and I think it held up. Not perfectly obviously because it did get a bit repetitive. But it held up enough.

field experiments
okay I have less than a minute to write this since that's how long the song is. Not really. Man this could have been longer. It's the intro to something great in it but it's only an intro.

Oh Baby
Ah, this starts as good proper pop. (And I love pop)
But I don't know. And now it's over.

Darla
This works well. The clickety at one minute is my favorite so far. But man if this doesn't work on nearly every level. Oh no. I'm moving my body as I write. Uh-oh.

Machines
I hope it isn't instrumental because it starts out as something great if it isn't instrumental.
It is instrumental. I'm halfway and it's probably instrumental. It's still good but not as great because I want more singing. Because I'm a sucker for that.
The ending was kinda sudden...

Bobblehead
The beginning is moody and the real proper start is... I'm liking the wailing sounds. And now there's someone singing. I think. So doublepluspoints.
I'm at three minutes and it wants to be over. I can feel the song going into outro mode but there's still two minutes left.
I almost thought there'd be some sort of revival during those two minutes but there wasn't. It really was a two minute outro to a song with 1 minute intro...

Take My Heart to the Flames
This screaming sounds a bit worse than the Time Machine. It doesn't have the same charm. I'll relisten to Time Machine and compare.
Yeah there's more popping in Time Machine but otherwise the vocals doesn't work nearly as well in this one.

A Gangster's Lament
The beginning is good.
I have a weak spot for the waltz, which means even though I see it's a bit repetitive it doesn't put me into bored mode.

Will My Three Year Old Son Love Me More If I Buy Him A Playstation Three
I have no idea what the voices are doing. But it works. It feels a bit westerny. Though I don't know why (with the title not suggesting any sort of western). It gets interesting and ends. This is how it's done fellas. No overstaying the welcome.

Step 1, Create One Idea. Step 2, Create A Second Idea. Step 3. Combine. Regardless.
I'm almost through the album and this feels like a good... Almost final song. I have to admit that the final songs have a tendency of being too long (I see ten minutes) and I haven't always gone through the whole thing. But this is supposed to be about this song.
It works with choruses and all things. I'm really liking this. It's soft and leaves behind all the worries. And it's varied with verses and choruses (I already said this didn't I?) I'm digging a lot.

Come December
I feared the worst with a 10-minute track but this isn't too bad. Not yet anyway. It's almost like a real song. It's not even evilly long and experimental.
Yet.
When I'm at two minutes or so. If this keeps up this is a very good outro track too.
Haha I'm sitting here waiting for when the song starts fucking itself up and get weird... This is how much faith I have in the last song mates... Oh it's just many songs combined into one? With a similar theme?

Final thoughts. Sort of.
The Troubadours have some awesome quality. The last album I reviewed was a great suprise and the quality is still holding up. Of course with quality like that the criticism becomes different. I don't really follow the GW music scene apart from the Troubs and I don't really know anything about making music either. I've never made any music myself and know nothing about the process that goes into it.
Which of course is my way of saying that I'm really fucking impressed every time and wish I could do half as good as you.
But where were I? Oh yeah, I was going to complain. The thing that struck me while listening to many of the tracks is that many of them overstayed their welcome. Many had a good start, perhaps something good in the middle but they were too drawn out. It's been present in the past too (present in the past hurr hurr) but this time it hit me completely.

I guess endings are hard. And achieving a balance where a whole song works all the way and doesn't falter. I don't know. But it's something I notice a lot. It can always be tighter, but something's obviously missing when tracks under three minutes are getting old before they end (which I think happened once or twice)

My favorite songs were probably Jojoface's longer title and Puppet Master's Darla. And perhaps Atari's Brand New Day was a bit of a favorite too :).

Uh yeah. What else should I say? Looking forward to the next one. And I'm sorry if I didn't give any really good insights. I wrote while I listened. And sometimes I wandered. And a couple of times I had to relisten :)

This post is long enough as it is...

1. Lars
Starts out with this great atomosphere already and some samples that I don't recognize. It establishes itself well as a strong opener that has a really strong sense of mood to it that just works so well.  Even though I feel that the melody of the piece is lacking, it is more than made up for in terms of the mood that the song sets, and the places that it takes you.  This is a strong opener for the album.

2. Unt
Wasn't expecting chipmunk introduction of this track, but the direction of this song is quickly corrected and turns into something special.  This track just sounds to excellent, and the way that it was produced just makes it all the more catchy.  Another strong and excellent track that really shows off your music making abiities.

3. Soulman
This one starts out a bit trippy and funky, and it also seems like a pretty strong track.  The vocals sound like they've been recorded well, and they fit well with the music and are done quite well, although I have to admit that I am not quite as much of a fan of this one based on the singing parts which aren't really that strong, although the rapping seems done pretty well in my opinion.  This track also does really well with setting mood as well

4. Helter Skelter
The quiet electric piano introduction is pretty cool and trippy.   So far all the tracks on this album have been excellent, and this one doesn't seem to be an exception.  The vocals are done really well, and the mood of the music is appropriate and while repetitive, is totally cool.

5.  Alec
The introduction seems like it could lead into something cool. However, the lower recording quality of this track compared to the others makes this a rather strange listen.  The vocals are okay at parts, but overall seem rather weak, although they are recorded surprinsgly well, especially compared to the sound of the guitar.

6. JOJOFACE
No surprise here that JOJOFACE delivers.  This quiet, ambient and moody track is quite excellent in just about every aspect.  The beat and the melody are done really well, and it does a great job at setting a really cool mood within you when you listen to it as well.  I really like the feel of this track, and its one of the strongest on the album so far.  Well done.

7. Jamicus
The acoustic guitar part is really cool, and the vocals fit this song really well.  The melody isn't quite one of my favorites, and I feel like the production values of the song could've have stronger overall.  However, this is still a good track, although I don't feel its your strongest work that you've presented to us, but it still shows the potential that you've always displayed in your tracks to be something amazing.

8. Raen
The repetitive and noisy nature of this track have a cool effect in the first half of the song, but when I realized that that was in fact, all of the song, then I realized that it just more or less repetitive noise in all practical matters.  You do a good job at establishing a mood, and I feel like there is potential for something to appear from this track, but I just don't see it from where it is right now.

9. ATARI
fuck this digger

10. Chris Riggs
The sound of the guitar is really interesting, and I'm not sure whether I am a fan of it or not.  However, this song does have a really interesting combination of punk and industrial sounds to it which while strange, seems to work well for it. I am also not a fan of the crazy vocoder/auto-tune that is on the vocals, although it seems to work well in context of the song.  The energy displayed in the vocals is definitely noteworthy

11. Kevin Liu and Psyburn
The production values of this song are also a bit weak compared to others, but judging by this being the first musical contribution of psyburn, I feel like it could be let slide a little.  I was surprised as to how decent this track was, although I feel as though psyburns vocals really fell apart at all the parts of the songs that I expected it to from being familiar with the original of this song.  Still, keep on trucking buddies.

12. Mince Wobly
This is quite a contrast to the last track, but I really like the way that this one starts out.  I was dissapointed that it didn't break into something different, as that would have been a really cool dynamic change.  However, I feel the length of the song is appropriate, judging by the repetitive nature of the track, and the overall lack of content (but points for sounding totally cool)

13. DP
DP once again delivers with a really cool track with some movements that really surprised me from him.  I really like the way that this song flowed, and the mood that it establishes is done to perfection.  The melody is pretty cool, and the instrumentation of the track is to die for.   Really great job buddy.

14. DJ Jazzper
This is kind of a funky little club piece that I feel, while low on content, does well with what it has.  I really like the funky guitar work in the background, and it fits well with the nature of the song.  who is this one done by?

15. ase
This one is well, a bit different from what I've heard you do, and while its not something that I feel is a strong piece, it does sound reeeally cool, so thanks for this

16. helter skelter
I have a picture of this song playing over a telephone when you pick it, just because of how the song sounds from how it was produced.  This isn't exactly a negative, because I think that it sounds cool, and while it isn't something that I would normally like in production, I feel that it really works for this song, and that really is all that counts in the long run.

17. Puppet master
Compared to many of the more electronic tracks that have fallen on the album, I appreciate that this one is a real instrument, real recording deal.   Although it obviously sounds comparitively less polished than some of the other tracks, I think it sounds really cool, and I like the melody of the track and the instrumentation that you've done in the song is also really cool sounding so mad props to you dog.

18. Tophue
This is a really cool and fun instrumental track that you should be super proud of.  I really liked listening to this track during the premiere, and this is probably one of my favorites from the album as well.  It sounds really good, and the melody that it has to it is really awesome as well.

19. Ace Heartwind
Wasn't expecting how noisy that one part of this song to be.  I feel like this song has a lot of potential, but I'm not sure if I'm digging the whole out-of tune acoustic part that is during some parts of the song.  The vocals are really hard to understand, and the production values are pretty low as well.

20. Alec
what the ass dude.  seriously.

21. Psyburn
I was joking a little on irc about this one, but not that much really.  I still think that this is a superb track dude, so don't get tied in knots bro.  While its a bit repetitve, and the title of the track panders tour strange desire to be a gangster, overall, this is a actually a swell track that would honestly make a nice ringtone (I said this on irc)

22. Mince Wobly
best title of any track on the album hands down.  the actual merits of the tracks are a bit questionable though, as it is quite repetitive and drone like in a manner of speaking.  I'm not sure if I can figure out the vocals, and overall, I feel like this song is really rough around the edges.

23. JOJOFACE
I honestly don't remember this one from the premiere, and the mp3 file that I downloaded from this topic isn't working for me, so i'm not sure that I really can do anything

24. ase/couch/puppetmaster (not in correct order)
This overall is a really cool track, and I like the nature of the track, even if it flows about as well as rhino.   You can hear audible changes judging by who is recording in the song, so I feel that it could've used some polishing in that respect.  However, I still think that this is a pretty cool track and overall it is well done, but could just use some more polish.

helter skelter wins!

however, I AM A HUGE DOLT and forgot that Carius said he wasn't willing to ship the t-shirts outside of the US, and I'm pretty sure helter skelter (Green Bomberman) lives in Australia. If the shipping itself is less than $25USD, I'll pay that out of my pocket so Carius doesn't have to.

edit: OK, shipping is $12.99 to aussieland. not bad. i'll contact carius to figure this out
