What's with those limp dick pikes

Eh... they are supposed to be enforcing thicker PVC so pikes/spears don't flop around like that but it is up to each clan to decide if the weapon is legal.  So... we still get really shitty floppy pikes.

That looks really awesome. I think as long as no one is throwing tennis balls and yelling "fireball" over and over it is still something you can tell people about!

seen role models?

Eh... I kinda hate when people bring up Role Models in relation to boffing.  Yes, what they showed in the moving was similar in that we fight with padded weapons, it is far less nerdy.  No magic, no one talking in high speech, VERY few people dressing up etc.  If you can look past the image, it is worth checking out.  They have groups (albeit, with different rules) across the country.

After rereading your message, I believe you are referring to the scythes that are in the picture.  People use them to pull shields back in close quarters.  I doubt it would be practical in real combat, but you never know.
